    And the epic continues......

I read the article on ESPN sports news this morning. Apparently Holyfield's people are in the final stages of negotiation to sign a deal to challenge Nikolay Valuev for his WBA title.. He would not disclose the purse amount, but said that it was less than $750,000.. The fight will likely take place around Dec, 20th of this year, and will either be in Germany or Switzerland.

    Good god.......

Granted, Valuev is not the most polished HW in the sport, but I think he beats a 46 year old Evander rather easily.

We don't need a super heavyweight category, we need a senior heavyweight category.:-(

Valuev´s team already shot down the idea of the fight. If it does indeed come off, they´ll look really stupid. Valuev will look cowardly too when both Klitschkos are waiting to fight him and he´s fighting the oldiefield.

Evidently, Holyfield's attorney is reviewing the contract that was written up by Valuev's promotor. And if they're thinking of setting a date for December 20, then a decision obviously has to be made quick..

Christ, is Holy even rated in the top-10 these days? He hasn't fought in a year.. That was his loss to Iggy in Russia... WTF is goin' on with the WBA? Nick Valuev SHOULD be stripped if he goes through with that defense.... Give GOLOTA the damn shot....

Are you kidding me? $750K? Or LESS!!:patsch This is Evander we are talking about and this is a title fight......in the Heavy weight division and all Don King can come up with is 3 Qtrs of a Million? It's a sad day in deed...especially if you are Evander.

Unless I'm mistaken, I don't even think Holyfield is top 40 anymore, and nor has he beaten a rated contender in years. I don't even see the monetary value in this fight for that matter, especially if one of the participants are only being offered less than three quarters of a ****ing a mil.

Yep, I think Valuev is padding his record, and holding off as long as he can until either a Chagaev fight resurfaces, or he is offered an exorbidant amount of money to face Wlad. I don't think he wants any part of Vitali.

Speaking of purses..... Larry Holmes was only paid $300,000 G's by Don King for his title shot at Ollie McCall in 1995... McCall earned a cool million....

The ONLY reason Evander should be getting any sort of shot is because of his name and marketability over seas. That all would contradict him only being paid $750k, somethings fishy here!
