Evander Holyfield possible opponent for Adamek

adamek certainly deserves to make all the money he can. when you think there was no money at cruiserweight, adamek can certainly go where the money is. it doesn't matter if he fights the golotas and holyfields, provided he takes the big risks vs the likes of arreola and whomever HBO want next (peter, chambers, thompson).

if a holyfield fight pays, that's cool. adamek took a massive risk last time out (arreola in california) and gave a world class performance. IF it means keeping busy while waiting for the HBO date, then there's nothing wrong with it.

what date do polsat have in mind?

it's not like danny green, who is making all his money fighting shot guys (RJJ, siaca). danny green is also eyeing up holyfield.

 

whats his record in his last 5 fights and the opposition faced?

Adamek wouldnt take that easy fight. He claimed that he wants only big fights, in Poland this wouldnt even be as big fight as Golota fight.

BUT, when do polsat want the fight? this summer? or do they want adamek to have that fight instead of the HBO date? if so, then there's no chance, as adamek has taken a big risk to get the american money. he'll not jeopardise that.

but if he can fight evander in the interval, have a big home event AND keep the tools sharp - why not?

 

When I read your post I have to agree, that one easier fight for good money is something what Adamek needs. I mean despite Bobby Gunn, he's been fighting dangerous opponents since 2 years without a break. Is somebody asks, I count Golota as a dangerous opponent too, as it was his 1st fight at HW and nobody really knew what can happen in that fight.

So I disagree with you tiger i think beating up old legends is not the right way to earn the money. I was saying the same before Golota fight. If these old folks want to continue let them fight against each other or against some journeymans but not top fighters who can really damage their health. At the same time Holy needs the money. He's situation is so sad , he's fighing for the living.

 

adamek vs. cambers or peters would be an excelent fight. adamek should fight the klits leftovers. Adamek has a much more exciting style then the klits.

 

exactly. boxing is a tough sport. adamek has faced many life and death fights, vs guys in their primes. paul briggs, not once but twice. steve cunningham - this was "do or die." ulrich and banks were hard first defenses at 175 and 200 - with little real reward. it was a big ask to beat arreola, but he outboxed a guy who's naturally 50-pounds heavier & more powerful.

given how hard it is for adamek to get the TV money (in the past), you have to be pleased for him if he can get good money fighting golota and holyfield. provided the real fights are still happening (peter/chambers/ thompson; a title shot in 2011).

HBO's schedule will force adamek to have 5 months out of the ring. maybe he needs the rest after 12 rds vs estrada and another 12 vs arreola. so perhaps he should just wait for the next HBO fight in oct. OR maybe he wants more work, and wants to keep active. if polsat's date doesn't interfere with HBO's date, i don't see why the fight can't happen.

 

yeah but provided he keeps fighting live opponents, who cares if he fights easy opponents in between?

he's put 20 pounds on to get the big money. he's not a real heavyweight, but he should be able to make the money in the hard fights (arreola) and the easy ones (golota).

to think, adamek was a frustrated fighter who couldn't get the big money. now he can make it in easy and hard fights. if there's time for both, let's see it happen!
