Holyfield is more versatile, had more tricks up his sleeve and could adapt better.

The word was that Holyfield was ducking Ruddock. I'm not entirely sure about that, but no one seemed to fancy his chances against him at that time (bar Tyson).

I wouldn’t pick Ruddock, but Holyfield was too easy to hit back then. Ruddock would have a significant chance of stopping him.

Commander Vander would counter him to death. And the anemic punch output from Ruddock would still see him somehow running outt of gas first. Ref waves off the one sided bout in the 9th.

Holy by late stoppage. Rudock would be dismantled .that smash thing isn't going to work

Agreed. Ruddock is too one dimensional to beat a fighter like Holyfield. Decision or late stoppage.

Holyfield liked to brawl during this time and was badly hurt vs Stewart, Cooper, and was in a back and forth war vs Dokes. Whilst i would pick Holyfield over Ruddock as he's too one dimensional, i do think Ruddock could seriously hurt Holyfield and put him in some trouble. And Holyfield may have to overcome a crisis early before he takes over the fight in the 2nd half.

I do find it a bit baffling though that people are suggesting Holyfield would dominate this fight. Who did Holyfield dominate in the early 90s apart from an out of shape Douglas who didn't turn up to fight ? Pretty much every fight Holyfield had in the early 90s was a struggle. Holyfield wins yes but he certainly wouldn't dominate nor would it be easy.
