Right now? I"d lean Tua, although Holyfield COULD beat him. It's a crapshoot really. Prime for prime? Holyfield outworks him and wins a wide decision.
That left hook is landing hard for tua in the sparring video who knows what could happen if he really landed that
Evander would beat him now, never mind in his Prime. Tua has fits with Rahman and was pretty lucky twice. Rahman would beat him again. Even an out of shape Rahman schooled Tua and put him on the canvas. Holyfield has a very different style but he can still out-work him and he still has a great chin.
The Quiet man has fought the best and won paper titles. Tua couldn't even win a paper belt. Tua beats a couple of bums and gets hyped up, gets schooled, and then goes into hiding. Wash, rinse and repeat. Sometimes he just goes into hiding. Ruiz does nothing but fight, fight, and fight.
Hey i not bashing John no more like i did in the past he shouldnt be judged on the NV fights hes a tough man he deserves some respect
Thanks for the upload. Always used to here rumors about Tua working Holy over in sparring and it looks like the rumors were true.
Tua was landing the more frequent powerpunches wasn't he? Or did you forget to put on your glasses when you pressed play?
Now, I have no idea. Holyfield is so old but Tua is so inactive and also past it. But back in the day Holyfield would have beaten him easily.
Is the date correct - 21st October 1996? If so, Holyfield was only 34 and training for the first Mike Tyson fight on 9th November 1996. Tua was prime (having KO'ed Ruiz in March 1996) so was obviously good preparation for fighting Tyson.
Yes that is the correct date i believe and even by watching the tape it looks like a spar in prep for Tyson
