Holyfield outworks for a UD, or possible late stoppage

If they're being compared in bodybuilding or powerlifting, sure

Evan Field's PED usage aside, I'd favour Holyfield to beat JJ technically and with workrate. Although - and this is a fairly large although - famous hit n hugger Ruiz managed to have success against EH with JJ type tactics. So, its not cut and dried.

Please tell me you think that PEDs do not improve performance in combat sports.

Depends. Which ones was he taking and when did he start taking them?

Of course they do, physical ability translates to any sport

Just nothing significantly. Holyfield could take all HGH in the world and would still lose to Ali

The only time PEDs become insurmountable without your opponent being an eunuch and you being a genetic god is Bodybuilding, Powerlifting (and it's related strength sports, Oly Weightlifting, Strongman, etc), and running

Johnson could handle all styles and distances and was unbeatable for many years....Johnson should be able to make holyfield tentative and just box and clinch to a decision in a great close bout

The Holy of Dokes/Bowe I&II stops JJ. Too much activity. Too many combos. Too much conditioning. All the bicep clinching in the hemisphere won't be stopping that version of Holy.

Ped make a significant difference it allows you be stronger, more powerful as well better stamina and train more so your better prepared. Still makes a big difference if they didn't nobody would take them. It seems 90% of Olympic athletes and near all cyclists use it not just bodybuilders and powerlifters.

These guys fought near 100 year apart very difficult to compare when Johnson fought it was more of a fight then a sport with the holding, clinch fighting and small gloves which allowed you to control your opponent as well as certain fouls you can't do with modern gloves.

I hate to belittle a point, but Holyfield with or without PEDS?

Without them he losses tough one. With them he wins easily.

Since you said "Holyfield" and not "Evan Fields," I will assume you meant without and call it for Johnson.

So since some people clearly seem to know there was a difference between when Holyfield was on PEDs and when he wasn’t, can you tell us which fights he was on them and which fights he wasn’t? In all his fights or just selected ones when he won?

Boring, grueling fight, neither guy can knock the other out; split decision.
