Then I don't see any reason to discuss it anymore.

It's good that we can find common ground somewhere.

I agree with you, Sharkey and Schmeling would not be competitive today at their weight or heavyweight. Holyfield against either of them is a mismatch. I can't think of anybody that Holyfield fought that I would pick Sharkey or Schmeling to beat.
Wilder's footwork is not conventional, but..he closes distance and creates distance using his athleticism, speed, and length. If Wilder was in a ring with Sharkey or Schmeling, his speed, length, and footwork would make both of them look like they were fighting while standing in quick sand.

No, it's trolling. Jack Sharkey wasn't a bum, he was heavyweight champion of the world. And he was an excellent boxer.

I never said he was a bum, is there medication you are supposed to be taking?
Or is your eyesight as bad as your taste in boxers?

Especially at cruiser, Sharkey would be a formidable foe that has a realistic chance at beating Holyfield. Sharkey would have arguable been better that Qawi and Carlos De leon. I think you're selling Sharkey short in this matchup.

My taste in boxers is pretty fine thank you very much. Jack Sharkey was a phenomenal boxer who may have been better than Qawi and Carlos de leon and Ricky Parkey and Henry Tilman. Sharkey may have very well beaten Holyfield at cruiser.

I never know if you're serious. If you are, you're entitled to your opinion, but I've seen enough of Sharkey on video to know that I don't think he'd be competitive with Qawi, DeLeon, etc. Sharkey wouldn't be competitive with Seamus McDonaugh.
I just watched some of the first round of Sharkey vs. Schmeling again, Sharkey jabs, brings his jab back to his waist and usually comes forward while doing it, against Holyfield he'd be sleeping soundly about the second time he did that. Holyfield would see it, wait for it and catch him with a right hand. Sharkey, as he was in that fight couldn't beat Holyfield when he was boxing in high school, much less by the time he'd fought in the Olympics and turned pro.

In this case I am serious. Look, there's a reason that Dempsey was the world heavyweight champion. He was even out boxing Jack Dempsey before Dempsey caught him when he looked to the referee rather than keeping his eye on his opponent. I don't know if you're serious when you say a HS aged Holyfield could have beaten prime Sharkey. Do you think a HS Holyfield could have been world heavyweight champion??

You seem to like fighters who won fixed fights.

I take it you rate David Haye highly?

You would of course have to favor the more consistent Holyfield, but Sharkey could catch lightning in a bottle when he was on his game.

A focused Sharkey is a very live underdog here.

Sharkey beat Risko, Godfrey, McTigue, Stribling, Loughran. I see no reason why he couldn't be competitive with cruiser weight Holyfield.
