Douglas didn't look the best in the fight against Holyfield, and he obviously didn't train as much as he did for Tyson, but what if he did? Who do you see coming out on top if The Real Deal faced a hungry Buster Douglas?
Tokyo Douglas would not be knocked out or stopped but I still see him dropping a decision to Holyfield.
My impression of that fight, is that Holyfield had very thoroughly digested the lessons of Tokyo, and came with a very carefully worked out fight plan. This fight was to Holyfield, exactly what the Fury Usyk fight was to Usyk. The most important fight of his career, and a do or die moment. Now if Douglas wanted to bring his A game, that is not going to hurt, but I don't think that Holyfield was going to be denied that night.
Holyfield stops him again, but later. Douglas always threw the uppercut from too far out which and that's the shot that Holyfield countered to stop him.
I do personally think that Holyfield still wins, only later, in a much more competitive match. Likely through another knockout. Holyfield's original knockout of Douglas is one of my favorites of all time, I went back to watch the fight again and man... Seeing Douglas shatter like glass from that right hand is so beautiful.
Holyfield in a competitive fight. Looks similar to the Dokes fight (except Douglas doesn't get stopped).
The Buster that beat Mccall and Berbick and lost to Tony Tucker I'd say was "trained", I don't think any version of Buster would beat Evander. Evander was a dog and Buster had a history of folding........... Evander may have stopped him later than round 3, but I have no doubt he would've stopped him.
