I saw a picture of Holyfield and Walcott together on Facebook and it got me to wonder, how does Walcott do against Holyfield. Walcott comes in at 194 pounds and Holyfield at 187-190 pounds. Best version of each man.
Holyfield can’t afford to stay on the outside boxing, he has to apply educated pressure, Walcott was better at range and got more extension on his straight punches, but Holyfield can’t afford to get reckless, Walcott was a master at walking you onto counters or setting you up when he’s on the backfoot, if Walcott fights how he did in the Charles 3 fight, holding his feet, but not pushing him back, I think that’s the best way, since he’ll be in the correct range to set Holyfield up and counter him. This is a great fight because it’s fair in terms of weight and they’re both some of the greatest of all time in the weight range (190s).
