I`d like to point out that while Holy was able to physically and mentally break Tyson ( who often draws comparisons to Frazier) he won`t be able to break Frazier. Frazier had an incredible will to win and every ounce of his being was about getting his opponent to get in the phone-booth with him and wage war. Daman, even the fleet-footed Ali couldn't find a ring big enough to keep `Smokin` Joe at bay. Frazier had an incredible amount of mental intensity to make the fight a war. Only Foreman,(who threw bombs) was able to really get Frazier gone. If Holy thinks that Frazier would buckle under the bright lights ,intensity and pressure like Tyson did... Hey it`s a damn good fight,we could debate this one for years :)

Man this is a dream fight of mine!

This would undoubtedly be a war. Frazier between 68-73 was a MACHINE!! He’d always come out Smokin’ with a scorching attack! Before his demanding style began to erode his skills, being in the same ring as Smokin’ Joe was pure hell..

The opponent most similar to Frazier that Holyfield faced in my opinion would be Dwight Qawi, in the form he was in the first fight with Holyfield, that fight was a classic back and forth grueling 15 round slugfest. I realize this fight was at cruiserweight but the parallel is valid in terms of style and content.

It’s a given that Frazier will take the fight to Holyfield, the big question is how does Holyfield respond. If drawn in to an all out brawl I think Evander may take a bit of a beating, similar to the 1st and 3rd Bowe fights. If Holyfield boxes like he did vs Foreman then I think he could take it on points.

My best guess though is Holy can’t resist the urge to swap punch for punch with Joe. I think Evander can hurt Joe but I don’t think he would be able to finish him. After a bruising action-packed struggle Frazier wins a very close majority or possibly even split decision.

Holyfield was far too open and willing to exchange for me to favour over a prime Frazier. I'd even go one step further than most favouring Frazier and would back him to stop Holyfield before the 12/15 rounds were up

    I would tentatively pick Evander.

It's a toss up for sure! Normally I like to sit on the fence and I'm probably selling Evander short by being so confident in my pick, but I can't help the way I see this one. Going toe to toe with Frazier is absolute kryptonite, unless massive physical advantages are in place. It's a shame there can't be 2 winners in this match up

Dam that would be an epic fight, I got joe by u.d. after rocking evander, but I just don' see either man going down. You know what though, look at what Frazier to did to Ali, if he can drop mohhamed he could drop holyfield.

Ironically these two guys often cop the sort end of the thrift when pitted against fantasy foes and here they are matched up.

I do think Joe Frazier would win in a FOTY type of war. Ironically I think Holyfield would win a series of fights.

Smokin Joe Frazier wins this fight. I say this with no hesitation at all.

I'll say this, and I'm likely in the minority, but imo it would take a peak Frazier for me to favor him. Frazier's peak was higher by beating Ali, Holyfield is better down from there imo. Holyfield could very well beat him.

Can you imagine Frazier on the juice that Evan Fields was taking?

    Case closed.
