Yea come on, I mean it’s cool that your liking all my posts but I don’t think your entire argument should be that louis loses because he came from an older era
It's not. Based on the available footage, he looks too flat footed to be able to land solid shots on Evander, who ain't just gonna sit there like the stiffs from Louis's era. Evander will use lateral movement and counter Louis. Louis's slow stalking doesn't work against some as Evander. The fight with Billy Conn clearly shows the trouble Louis has with boxers that move well. Also, Evander has a much better chin.
Evander has never won a fight on his bicycle and Louis would not be the first unless they tie his knees together, and cut off one of his arms.
Louis was green and not a champion yet when he fought Schmeling - an underrated ex-champ. Holyfield was in his prime when he was dropped, hurt & nearly knocked out by journeyman Bert Cooper. Do you think Louis in his prime would struggle with an ageing journeyman in Cooper?
Like who? Marciano? Walcott? Galento? Schmeling? All those guys hit just as hard or harder than Cooper
Inexperience had absolutely nothingto do with the Schmeling loss. He lost because he spent his training camp bedding women and playing golf with celebrities. Louis from the Baer fight obliterates Schmeling.
Alright I exaggerated his age (forgot how young he was), but in terms of experience he was rugged & shopworn - already having 7 loses (5 in which he was stopped). He was a journeyman gate-keeper who gave Holyfield one of the toughest fights of his career.
Doubt it, but hey that's just me. They were all above him in class though - with the exception of Galento who was about the same (maybe less idk).
Maybe you're right. But Schmeling may have still given him a tough fight or potentially beat him due to Joe over looking him & relying on power
He was dominating, but it was still a tough back & forth fight. Cooper gave Holyfield a tougher fight than Douglas, Tyson & Mercer did.
