Spinks was greater P4p but Holyfield was a better heavyweight. Physically stronger, probably harder hitting, etc.

Spinks does not have enough quality wins at heavyweight to favour him over Holyfield

    P4P Spinks is obviously greater

Holyfield UD 12, something like 9-3

Holyfield. Most likely by K.O. Spinks did well against Holmes who tried to out box him. Holyfield always talked a great game about his technique but when he got hit Holyfield would throw four or five punches back like a madman, even when dazed or in trouble (see Holyfield vs Bowe 1 round 10) He’d catch Spinks and Spinks would shell up and lose.

I'd personally go with his Holiness via UD or late stoppage. But I think Spinks is competitive and wins rounds along the way but I think Holyfield would be too strong.

Spinks appeared in a boxing magazine in 1991 saying he wanted that fight. Said if Holyfield were to beat Tyson when they were due to fight that fall, that he would like to come back and face Holyfield. Evander would've been too much for him. 'Course if Holyfield could be knocked down by Bert Cooper, held to the distance by Larry Holmes, and showed the lethargy he did against Moorer the first time out... And if Spinks could show the form he showed against Cooney...

Depends, what weight? Heavyweight I'd go with Holyfield because he filled out at that weight and I see him pushing Spinks back and making it a fight and beating him on the inside, wrapping him up, pushing him off and firing combos and maybe a bit of use of the head and elbows like he used to
At 190 lbs I would pick Spinks because I believe that Spinks was a better boxer and had the better ring IQ, I just see a close fight with Spinks outboxing him from the outside and moving with Holyfield chasing him and having the odd success, but I don't see size being a factor at this weight, because I think that maybe Spinks was more of a natural at this weight and would be more fit and strong at this weight.

It’s not impossible that Michael Spinks could have won, perhaps by a decision. But he would have to fight an extremely intelligent match and avoid turning it into a physical affair.

You don't think Spinks could stop Holyfield in a brawl?

Holyfield too much in every department, especially heart. Real Deal by late stoppage or UD for me.
