Well, base your argument around that then. If you'd said Foreman would struggle to land body shots on Holyfield as he was less skilled, that's a point that can be debated. But you said he would struggle as Holyfield was shorter than him which I think it's fair to say has been disproven. I actually think Foreman did have the skills to land on Holy's body. The skill being in how he cuts off the ring and gets him on the ropes or in a corner where hitting him to the body is possibly easier than hitting him in the head. And for the record, I think the legend of 70s Foreman has been grossly overplayed. Holy is no worse than evens for me in this fight but win or lose he'll have to take some digs to the ribs.
I got back on the taller fighters can't punch to the body point, Glass. Can I leave there being 'no proof that Lewis' chin is worse than Ali's' and 'Shavers is an overrated joke' to you?
The Hearns example has no relevance whatsoever. It doesnt even make sense. The issue here is that you are back peddling because you have your foot in your mouth. I never called Holyfield a bum. You said taller fighters have a hard time landing body punches on shorter fighters and this is not true for Foreman. Are Frazier and Qawi bums? Aren't they skilled short fighters? Foreman had no trouble AT ALL landing body punches on them. That's what this boils down to, your initial statement was completely false. Flipping things around and changing the conversation won't change the fact your statement was incorrect. And btw, Foreman landed body shots on Holyfield in their actual fight. Cooper certainly wasn't as skilled as Holyfield and he knocked him down and had him badly hurt. There are dozens of examples of a less skilled fightef landing on a more skilled fighter or even beating them. Do You think Marcos Maidana had equal skill to Mayweather when he managed to not only go the distance but get a draw on one scorecard? Yes there is. Using your own posts. Are You dumb? -You said Liston hit harder than McCall and Rahman -Ali survived Liston's bombs and was never KO'd -yet you think Lewis who got KO'd by McCall and Rahman had a better chin? Would you like to make a poll and ask people who they think had a better chin?
Liston never managed to hit Ali with his best shots, Rahman and McCall landed theirs on Lennox, that's what it's all about. You have no way of knowing if Ali would have been KOd or not if he was hit by the same shots that Lewis was hit with. Until we have that answer, there is no way to know for sure.
Ok so are you conceding that you were wrong in saying Foreman can't land body shots on skilled short opponents?
lol. You rule, @Man_Machine I'm with you here, Glass. Hard to sympathize with somebody who makes those assertions.
I think Holyfield has a real shot here. He's the better boxer with a pretty good chin. Better defense, countering, and hand speed too. Weight would be close to even. The 70's Foreman to me was a bit over rated and had problems with boxers that had good chins. Foreman might gas in the mid rounds, Holyfield could take over here. I thought of doing a honest round by round of Foreman vs Ali, but opted not too. It was an awful performance by Foreman.
