Yeah miss fights like this, However I think that the Heavyweight division will be back to normal im 5-10 years or so.

Alot of talent coming up and besides the Klitschkos no one is really better then the other wich makes way for great matchups.

the main question is will the contenders actually fight each other, instead of keeping the loss column in their record at "0" as long as they can by fighting cans and cab drivers

the fight was awesome, by the way, I rather watch the whole of it than just the highlights :good

Yes. Bowe "that night" was an ATG. IMO
(who I'll match up H2H vs. anyone in HW history)

Bowe was an overrated bum. He was a stationary punching bag who couldn't block or slip a punch to save his life. He was dumb as ****, slow as molasses, couldn't control distance and couldn't even throw a straight punch.

    - He was totally outclassed and destroyed twice by Andrew Golota.

    - Got schooled by tomato can Tony Tubbs.

    - Blatantly ducked Lennox Lewis.

    - Going life and death with cruiserweight Holyfield is not impressive.

Vitali-Bowe common opponents (Herbie Hide and Larry Donald)

    - Bowe was badly hurt several times and almost KO'd by Hide. After the fight Bowe admitted he was out on his feet several times and said Hide was the hardest puncher he ever faced.

    - Vitali easily destroyed Hide in 2 rounds.

    - Bowe won a lackluster decision over Donald.

    - Vitali is the only man to knockdown and stop Donald. He dropped Donald 4 times and won by KO.

    Either Klitschko destroys Bowe.

Lets look at some of Holyfield's losses and close fights:

    - dominated by Chris Byrd, who was destroyed twice by Wlad and dominated by one armed Vitali.

    - dominated by Larry Donald, who was knocked down 4 times and KTFO by Vitali (was the only man to knockdown and KO Donald).

    - dominated by Sultan Ibragimov, who was dominated by Wlad.

    - drew and lost to John Ruiz, who was defeated by 3 Wlad victims (David Haye, Ruslan Chagaev, Danell Nicholson)

    - KTFO by James Toney, who was knocked down, badly hurt many times and dominated by Sam Peter, who was destroyed and ruined by the Klitschkos.

    - drew and lost to Lennox Lewis, who was dominated and retired by Vitali.

    - struggled and barely beat Ray Mercer, who was annihilated by Wlad (was the first man to knockdown and KO Mercer).

    - struggled and barely beat Vaughn Bean, who was destroyed by Vitali (was the only man to KO Bean).

    - beaten twice by overrated bum Riddick Bowe, who was totally outclassed and destroyed twice by Andrew Golota, who was KTFO by 4 Klitschko victims (Brewster, Adamek, Austin, Lewis)

Holyfield was a good fighter, but he's nowhere near the Klitschkos level.

    Either Klitschko destroys Holyfield.

please pay little or no mind to vlad23, for he crossed the threshold of klitschko cockrider status, many years ago. on another note, I miss fights like this, but I do agree that there would be more good fights if the heavyweight contenders actually fought each other, instead of stocking their shelves with cans until they get a shot at a klitschko, only to be systematically destroyed by the far superior brothers.

Legendary fight, one of the top 4 most exciting Heavyweight wars in history.*

(*Only FOTC, Thrilla, & Holy-Bowe II are in the same bracket imo.)

Yeah. But I put up the H.L. for those that just need to refresh or never saw it. A bit of a tease.

Absolutely, there was nothing like that ever since and even though Holyfield admitted Lennox Lewis was his best opponent and fighter. November 1992, Friday the 13th, two undefeated fighters, a pick'em even odds fight and both going beyond the call of duty and the first of one of the best modern time trilogies along with Pac-JMM and Gatti-Ward. Hws these days are too startegical and afraid to engage and fight on defense and counte.offense and that is absolute crap.
