LOL. I mean no disrespect. I'm just laughing b/c so MANY times Holyfield would say I'm gonna box and move and then....he got hit, then it was all thrown out the window and he became a total swinging for the fences brawl. I see him and the rock just digging in and smashing each other imo. PS - For the record probably my 2 favourite fighters.
Marciano in a 15th rounder by 13th round KO. Stronger man, better punch and better stamina while Holyfield is only faster than him.
Marciano beats the Holyfield that struggled a bit with Tillman, agree with Qawi rematch Holyfield prevailing
Essentially my thinking too. A dust up with Marciano is the wrong strategy and you just know Holyfield would do it.
Marciano is certainly better than his detractors claim. He does a lot of little things well that you only really notice when you watch him a bit. That said: he's not more skilled than Holyfield. He's not even a better dirty fighter than Holy.
I don't think many can surpass Holyfield when it comes to dirty fighting, who can you really note? Greb, Golota, Fullmer?
Marciano had a pretty nifty right hook, right elbow combination iirc. But Holyfield's use of headbutts is an ATG weapon
"Head first" was ultimately true. Holyfield's forehead technique is the thing I've studied the most from him.
Let’s start at the fundamental level who was the better ring general Marciano or Holyfield? I remember EH famously fighting everybody’s fight… Marciano dragged people into his world.
