If Lewis had any ideas about coming back, from what i've read on here and how bad it was, I hope this convinces him to stay retired.

Old men shouldn't be getting beat up for money just because they used to be good fighters.

I doubt it's hurting his legacy. Not enough people are watching.

I the fight had carried on, and the cut really wan't bad, it was looking 50-50 for Holyfield at best, IMO.
I know he might have warmed up and come on strong, but Williams might have got to him before he could get going.
Really, he looked more shot than ever, and he's been over-the-hill for about 16 or 17 years !

True but trying stepping into the ring with Holyfield. Even at 48 he will effortlessly make you appreciate the sport with one tap.

LOL! I was tired when I posted this. Yes 79-71. I think Boswell and Johnson ought to fight eachother this year to see who belongs in the top ten and who doesn't.

Was at the fights last night. I'll try to post some pics later. They had a great set up and some good entertainment, such as sexy girls dancing around the ballroom in between rounds, but the quality of the fights were **** poor. Also, talked to the state comissioner before the fights. Apparently they had to buy a $15,000 ring the day of the fight (maybe the day before) because Holyfield refused to fight in an 18 ft. ring...so they bought a 20 ft. ring and set it up the day of the fight.

Larry Holmes, Jameel McCline, Lennox Lewis, and a couple of others were in attendence. Larry Holmes was a really nice guy. He joked with us afterwards and said we should start a fight in the casino since the main event was so bad lol. He gladly gave me autograph and talked a bit with me. McCline was extremely generous and took time to talk me and take some pics. He said he has finally retired and seems to be doing good. He's a huge guy btw. Lewis was kind of an *******. He was really skeptical to give autographs and take photos with the fans. Also got to chat with Cedric Boswell afterwards. He is really cool and loved taking pics with the fans...if he got serious about his career earlier he could have been a stud. Might be a little too old now. Also met Al Bernstein.

Mike Tyson was supposed to come but he bailed at the last moment. Somebody told me it was a money issue but who knows.

Did Boswell fight in the card? I know he was supposed to?

Yeah Boswell fought a guy named Dominique Alexander and dominated him. Boswell knocked him down three times in the 2 rd ...each with a left hook to the body. He went to the body pretty well and seemed to have heavy hands. He's an extremely nice guy too.

Yeah he trains at a gym right down the street from me and I agree his career has been pretty much wasted I hope he can get a decent fight soon the guy has talent. He fought McCline a few years back and was way up on the cards before gassing and getting stopped with only one more round to go.

Lewis is more realistic than Holy... and unlike Holyfield, he is not a broke man with tens of wives and hundreds of children.

I feel a pity for Holyfield. He'll keep fighting since he needs money and boxing is the only thing he knows - I hoped after wins over Williams and Nielsen he may get yet another titleshot (perhaps against Haye), and get enough money to solve his problems (if only for a while) and finally retire.
