Barrett lets out a few jabs and digs a right to the body. Davis is clinching up as Barrett encroaches. Nice right hook to the kisser by Davis. Jab in the nose by Davis. He's doing well from long range, but fairly poorly on the inside...pretty much the story of the last couple of rounds. Davis stays back and flicks out jabs while Barrett takes some time off. Davis gets impatient and jumps in with a couple of chopping overhand shots and gets caught in midair and bear-hugged. Davis lands a nice lead left once they separate. Barrett with a body hook. Barrett pressures behind his jab. Davis walks facefirst into a jab. Barrett hops on his toes on the outside, and leaps in with a 1-2, the right cross rocking Davis a little.

Round 8

Barrett leads with huge rights. HUGE rights. Several unanswered. Davis is getting clobbered across the ring. Barrett whips Davis in the face with a wind-around right from the side as Davis ducks. Davis lands a counter punch as Barrett slows down and Barrett slips on the Dodge logo on the canvas. Davis gets pumped up like he hurt Barrett and Barrett literally laughs in his face (not in a mean way, just like "Ha ha, really?"). Davis misses a 1-2 as Barrett slips and winds up with his arms clinched around his back. They can't stay out of the clinch, now - making the ref work hard. Davis is fighting two opponents again - Barrett and gravity. Every time they infight Davis bowls over. Terrible balance. Davis is grabbing Barrett as much to stay up as anything else.

10-9 Barrett for the round, and 77-75 for the fight.
