Vitali beats Holahfield. But Holyfield beats Vitali.

Holyfield on points for mine. Klitschko doesn’t have the punch or general ability to get his respect Bowe had.

Think Holy out works and our points him. Holy had the chin and determination to pull it off…prime Wlad may be a different story.

Pretty grueling fight. I'd favor Holyfield's class to overcome the size difference. I don't think Vitali was as good or dynamic as Bowe.

No, certainly not. & crucially, he doesn’t have the punch to really threaten Holyfield. Certainly not the combinations needed to follow up hurting him even if he did.

As much as it’s well-known how little I think of the elder Klitschko on here, I do think his size & robustness would make it a decently hard night, & somewhat awkward, for Holyfield. He could frustrate Holyfield without really doing all that much, because he was big, stood tall fighting, & couldn’t be hurt.

He might win three, perhaps four rounds, probably late in the contest. No more than that though.

In a nutshell he's too robotic and predictable to beat Holyfield for me. There's very very very little artistry and creativity there. Ironically while i think his brother would be more dangerous to Holyfrield Vitali's strengths may well get him past Wlad H2H.

I am old enough to have watched the worm turn on Vitali. Prior to Wlad getting splattered a couple of times (even after Purrity, but before the later defeats), Vitali was very lightly-regarded, for just the reasons you highlighted. He’s a total robot. All the attention was where all the talent was - with Wlad. Then, it’s as though people saw Vitali’s great chin & durability as replacements for Wlad’s weaknesses in those very areas, & he’s been massively oversold for mine ever since.

Regarding his near total absence of gifts…nobody ever managed so well with so few. His success immensely belies how ordinary he was.

The Holyfield who fought Bowe the 2nd time with his in and out movement and superb counter punching would clearly beat Vitali in the region of 8-4.

Holyfield would make the arm punching stiff robotic Vitali look pedestrian with his superior athleticism.

Holyfield was clearly using at that time, though. How does the clean Holyfield of twelve months earlier do?

The Holyfield pass has a poor effect against modern heavyweights:
    Bowe 1-2
Lewis 0-1-1 (actually it should have been 0-2)
    Valuev 0-1
Therefore, I conclude that he would also lose to Vitali, on points; maybe SD or MD.

Bowe and Lewis are significantly better than Vitali, he was slowing by the time he fought Lewis and one can hardly count Valuev against him.
