Well, as I said, he's never been the best talker and the damage from boxing made it worse. But he sounds better to me in his most recent interviews. He's more fluid. It's pretty noticeable.
I remember Bowe's speech was noticeable slowed after the first or second Golota fight. He retired after that, but had a few fights 8-12 years later that shouldn't have been allowed to happen. Holyfield definitely fought for too long, but it seemed like Bowe's signs of brain damage happened more suddenly. I'm basing that on what I remember from the time and could easily be wrong about when he started showing the signs of damage. I hadn't noticed anything until after one of the Golota fights. I would like to think it was the second fight since he obviously shouldn't have fought after that. I remembered Bowe had a kickboxing match in 2013 that people were complaining about at the time, so I looked it up and it said he was knocked down 5 times from kicks to the leg. It shouldn't have happened, but it sounds like his opponent might have been intentionally avoiding head shots, but I'm just guessing since I didn't see it. Holyfield has always been inarticulate and struggled to put his thoughts into words, so he might seem to have more damage than he does. He's obviously got some degree of brain damage though. I noticed he started getting his thoughts out better toward the end of the video, only to get stuck on a word and go back to sounding like he did in the beginning. I love boxing, but it's sad to see the toll it takes on many of the legends of the sport.
Did any of you jagos read? Lmao hes talking about how much better holy sounds now then before ..jeez louise pay attention
He is another shocker. I heard Floyd Snr comments on the Fury v Wilder fight and he sounded more lucid than ever! Maybe everyone is on CBD or some stuff?
Saw him in a clip predicting the winner of Wilder/Fury and I thought he sounded real bad. Was slurring, stuttering and couldn't spit the words out.
