You mean Moorer's chin was easy to crack? Still,Moorer was in his 20's,physical prime, hard hitting, good combos etc
1.Bowe 2.Tyson 3.Foreman 4.Qawi 5.Cooper Shoe in fight,Mercer for sure. The Holyfield left hook that put Mercer down as great.
Yes and Yes. For all the **** he gets, Moorer managed to consistently remain a top rated Heavyweight from 1992-97.
I dont really add or consider Foreman and Holmes especially Holmes Foreman since then moved on to win a title again so I can see giving credit. Cooper I wouldnt give too much credski there. I think Ruiz is a good win considering what Ruiz has done like it or not he held that WBA title for a long time.
the circumstances surrounding the win, meaning the fact that qawi was a grizzled veteran who had lost officially twice, one of which is inadmissable because it was so early in his career and he had virtually no amateur career, and once against the atg light heavyweight michael spinks, and he was coming off of 6 devastating wins against top level light heavyweights and cruiserweights. coming into the holyfield fight, he looked absolutely unstoppable. I also consider the fact that holyfield on the other hand, was coming into the fight a novice at the professional level. furthermore, the fight was one of the last 15 round bouts ever, it went the full distance, nonstop action, and it was undeniably one of the greatest fights of all time, and the greatest cruiserweight bout ever. that fight paved the way for every tough moment holyfield experienced inside the ring from that point forward. what a great fight, and that's why i stand by this fight being number one on my list.
1 Bowe- Bowe was undefeated and at his peak, this is a big win for Holy. 2 Tyson- Might not have been a late 80s Tyson but he was still a very good heavyweight and was on a nice run. Holy wasn't at his peak either, would have been great if this fight happened 5 years earlier, but was still huge fight. 3 Moorer- Moorer was never a great heavyweight but he was a good one and Holy ko'ed him. 4 Qawi 1- His best work was probably at lightheavy but Qawi was still a good cruiserweight when Holy beat him but he gets extra credit for only having about 10 fights and being a pro for less than 2 years when they foguht. 5 Foreman- He may have been over 40 but Foreman had a lot left and put up a pretty strong effort in this fight. At the time Holy was criticized for fighting old fighters but looking back its clear Foreman and Holmes may have been older but they were still good wins for Holy. To me Holyfield's two stand out wins are Bowe and Tyson but then he has a lot of wins that are all somewhat similar and can be interchanged and on different days I'd rank his best wins differently. You can make a good arguement for putting guys like Mercer, Rahman, Dokes, Douglas, Holmes, etc in the 3-5 slots if you wanted.
Bowe, Bowe was in his short but good prime. DeLeon and Ricky Parkay were two cruisers he beat, and while not as god as others mentioned, I liked those wins cause he looked so damn great we knew a champ who would last was coming along.
I would put Bowe #1 if he didn't turn up fat. Therefore, he goes to two under Iron Mike Tyson. 1. Mike Tyson I 2. Riddick Bowe II 3. Qawi I 4. Dokes 5. De Leon
