If Manny is not mentally prepared to constantly back up to the ropes and start over again, he will tire. Hatton is not easy to potshot in the first half of the fight. Manny has great lateral movement but he should pace himself and not try stop him too early. I've got Pacquiao winning late but he will need to bring savvy intangibles to the table or he will find himself in a fight he hasn't been in before
Yeah.. I've said this many times. Hatton is pretty strong. He ain't Sugar Shane strong, but he was plenty for May, and will be plenty for Pac. He will still get his face tatooed, though.
I think Floyd was backed up by Hatton coz Floyd was happy to be backed up by Hatton and fight that way. I don't think Ricky dictated the fight.
I saw Floyd willingly going to the ropes, tagging HAtton as he lunged and then tying him up. When he caught ricky with that Check Hook he played him perfectly, he waited for the lunge and then BAM took him out.
I think the author of this thread brings up a good point though, in that the last person who really aggressively brought the fight to Pac and made him work non stop was Erik Morales in the first fight, and even he wasn't as intense as the Hitman. Whether that is enough to beat Manny is a big question, but I think it makes him a very difficult test.
Can Hatton take Pacquiao to the ropes??? Sure. Can Pacquiao take him??? Sure. Does that has anything to do with Floyd, who loves to fight from the ropes??? Not a bit.
