Even if Floyd fights Pac in 2012, will history forget Floyd's 3 years of duckage?

    Here is a good example.

Most of the posters here are probably born after 1990 and don't remember the Hagler/Leonard rematch drama.

Some of you probably only know about it from this site or from reading about it (like me).

    Is that what people remember?

Do the history books look at Leonard as a ducker?

What do they say about Hagler these days?

Personally, I think they will both be remembered as great fighters.

Pac will have the 8 weight class record and the dramatic increase in risk adding to his legacy.

Floyd will be remembered as a great, slick boxer with amazing speed and fantastic defense, but who wasn't as active as fans would have liked.

Not to mention that the longer he works you the more money he's going to make.

People years from now will probably still be arguing who was at fault for the fight not taking place in 2010.

Behind all the posturing and accusations I still think there's a silent agreement from both sides to milk this thing for all it's worth and make millions fighting easier opponents before facing each other.

it's probably the same case when jmm escaped with a draw (one judge admitted to a scoring error) during their first fight. it took jmm 4 years to fight pacquiao again.

also pacquiao has not officially signed to fight jmm so you can still say that pac is still ducking jmm. after pac signs, then you can call him a cherry-picker for defending his welter title at a catch weight against jmm who is about 2 to 3 pounds smaller than pacquiao.

I see Popkins is getting his excuses ready for when Pacquiao gets his ass kicked by Mayweather.

And sorry, after he gets his ass kicked, history will remember it for how it was: Bob Arum didn't want Manny anywhere near Floyd as he knew his cash cow would get worked. That much is certain. And what does Manny say? "That is up to my promoter..." Fact is it is Mayweather who is calling out Manny, not the other way around.

I like Manny as a fighter, but unfortunately he has some of the biggest idiot hardcore fans. It reminds me of when Cotto was unbeaten. His fans make me want to see him lose.

Just have your excuses ready boys, because you know damn well Manny loses that fight. You guys may talk your **** on a message board, but I guarantee when it comes down to it, you know in your heart that he loses to Mayweather. I seriously doubt any of you would bet serious cash on Manny winning.

In fact if Popkins is SO CONFIDENT, I would be willing to bet him $1,000 straight up on who wins when they fight. We could setup a paypal account to ensure delivery. Put your money where your mouth is.
