Even if Mayweather beats Pac, it doesn't do much for his legacy.

He is expected to win in my opinion. Back several years, we would laugh at the idea of Pac facing Mayweather cuz they were too far apart. Mayweather could have built a great legacy had he clean out the elites of the welterweights instead of hiding in retirement waiting to comeback to fight a former superfeatherweight. People might give him props if he beat Pac but for me, he needs to start fighting guys who are naturally in his division. I like to see him fight Shane and Paul Williams or move up again. He needs to challenge himself and take risk to gain any credibility in my view.

I agree with this, because of the size difference. If Pac beat PBF, however, it would definitely boost Pac's legacy. Good post!

After tonight a win over pac means more than it would have before. pac showed that he is strong enough to hang with real welters. Historically if he doesn't fight manny he will be remembered for ducking manny so he really has to take the fight now even though it may not really be the toughest one available.

Terrible post. God you are dumb. You just saw PAcquaio blitz Cotto and you think anyone from junior welter to light middleweight is on Pacs level?

Guess what, 10 years ago, I would have never dreamed Mayweather would have beaten Oscar at 154, what the **** does that have to do with where the fighter is now.

Any welter who beats Pacquiao now has a huge feather in his cap.

Well Floyd says "Legacy don't pay bills." That fight would pay plenty of bills.

It would be undoubtedly his best win by a long shot so it would do quite a bit.

It doesn't hurt Pac's either, Pac is no joke, it would be a good win but I think you are wrong when it comes to the general public. The winner of this would be remembered as the best of the generation to the masses and that is something that hasn't happened since the 80's with Leonard Hagler etc.

This fight is bigger than just us boxing fans.

First, I don't think Floyd cares about his legacy. Second several years ago fighting Pac will not do anything for his legacy. That was several years ago but it's different now! Pacquiao has cemented his legacy as an ATG and P4P king not to mention that it's proven that Pacquiao can take a solid punch for a real welter. Only fools would discredit a win from Pacquiao now.

Honestly, Pacquiao doesn't even need Mayweather.

Damn right......Cotto is not an elite atg welter, but he's still a damn good one.

Pac definitely beatdown a solid welterweight in Cotto, so certainly the enhances what may be a Mayweather win over Pacquiao, if it were to happen.

Pac showed he could dominate a legit true welter, so this Pac win over Cotto should take away any excuse if Pac should get beaten by a Welterweight, that Pac was just undersized.
