I've always said wlads left hook is scary when he throws it and tonight was no exception.

He broke the dudes cheek! How many times do you hear of that with one shot. Not often.

 

I don't rate him in the top 10 ATG heavies, at least not yet but he's knocking on the door of the top 10.

As a puncher I'd say you'd have to have in the mix as a top 5 ATG puncher at heavyweight. Shavers, Foreman, Louis, Tyson, Tua, Lewis, Liston are probably the most often talked about heavies in terms of power and Wlad has the kind of power that belongs in their company. So he's definitely top 10 and an argument can be made for top 5.

 

He broke his cheek?

 

He went to the hospital after fight. That's what I read.

 

Pulev's nose, cheek bone were broken. The lower jaw bone was fractured. He got multiple CRT scans for internal bleeding but luckily nothing was found. He suffered a strong concussion and deep cut around the eye.

This is as bad as it gets in our sport. Anyone who wants more brutal knockouts needs to stop watching boxing.

 

The broken cheek bone came from the KO punch. Wlad didn't even hit the sweet spot and still KOED him. The force of the punch was so strong it was like he was in a small car crash.

Wlad's clubs are so big he can KO you anywhere he hits you on the face, if he really loads up.

 

My gut told me he would scrape in at number 10. But after you posted this, I sat down and wrote out a list and you're right. Wlad isn't top ten but probably closer to 13 or 14.

 

theres is no doubt he can hit pretty hard. with that much bodyweight and 20 years of experience, you ought to be able to hit hard.
