9-8 to whoever wins the round. Why all these ******ed questions about how to score rounds today?

ten point must system means you always have to credit someone with 10 points
if the round is even and both score a knockdown its 10-10 or the one who did slightly better wins 10-9

You can only score like that in the event of point deductions. In this scenario the round would be 10-9 or 10/10.

  9. Even rounds are... even.

Knockdowns cancel eachother out. If it's an even round it's 10-10 despite the double knockdown. 10 point must system says the winner gets 10 except when penalized a point for a foul.

What also irritates me is how people seem to always score rounds with a knockdown 10-8 in favor of the fighter who scored the KD, regardless of how the round went overall. For example, fighter A is dominating fighter B, however at the end of the round fighter A suffers a knockdown. This does not automatically mean that fighter B won the round 10-8. Fighter A was winning the round but fighter B evened it up with the KD so the round should be 10/10.

An example would be Williams vs Martinez I round 1. It was a close round, but Martinez scored the cleaner KD for me and hurt Williams more with the KD. I scored the round 10-9 Martinez.

  13. That's using the scoring system really liberally. You are correct, although I think the point earned by scoring a knockdown should be really really hard to get back within the same round. The fighter getting knocked down really needs to batter the other guy in the round to earn back a losing 10-9 and the only way he can win the round 10-9 is by knocking the other guy down in the same round. Basically, scoring a knockdown should automatically at least win you the round 10-9.

Yes your probably right, it would be harsh not give a fighter a round despite scoring a KD. But I was thing of more extreme examples to be honest, like if Froch had suffered a flash knockdown in the 4th round agaimst Bute or something like that.

It does amaze me though how people cannot grasp the 10 point MUST system.
