Do you care to back up how Joshua didn't break down Ivan during that third round and dominated him? Do you care to back up how Joshua DIDN'T deserve to be in the FINALS AT BAKU. NOT LONDON. BAKU against the same opposition? Do you care to back up how IT'S NOT IMPRESSIVE for some one who have only been boxing for 3 years to just BE AT THE OLYMPICS. Do you care to back up how 22 IS NOT an early age for a HW and Joshua got loads of time? http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=421495&page=14 Support the Josh.
So bored of hearing crap about bribe money from some bitter morons on here. Why didn't the "bribe money" work for Selby? Or for the other boxers who did not get gold? Why didn't we bribe the judges in the cycling who gave a very questionable relegation to Pendleton in the sprint final? Why didn't we pay off judges in gymnastics where Louis Smith got a silver medal having scored identically to the guy they awarded gold to? An individual gold medal in the gymnastics would have been a massive step forward for Britain. Sometimes you get poor decisions and in amateur boxing the scoring is invariably wayward at best and pathetic at worst. Joshua was a bit unlucky in the final of the World Championships. He lost to the hometown fighter and I felt he did enough to win. But it was no robbery, he lost a close fight. Whether you think the Italian deserved to win or not, it was evidently a close fight and blithering on about bribes makes you look stupid. Swayed by the crowd? Very possible. **** scoring system? Without a doubt. Paid off by Britain? **** off with your asinine, obsessive crap about Britain. Some of the Eastern European posters here are worse than the worst American posters on the site.
Oh yeah you're right it does, because in that video we see a guy beating Savon. So you know the age old proven classic of if A beats B and B beats C then A definitely beats C is proven to be true right? Of course the guy putting a beating on Savon there, went on to actually fight Joshua in the final you idiot, and he scraped a victory by one point. Joshua should have lost his first fight to Savon. About 98% of British posters on here have said that. But that doesn't mean Joshua is awful or incapable. The fact that he was in close fights with the likes of Cammarelle and only lost by one point to the guy you've just posted a video of, shows that in after only trying the sport out 4 years ago, he has already done very well. I'm not sold on him, and frankly I don't see any single attribute that looks special, but the hate he is getting is pathetic.
For all the American posters complaining about hometown decisions in London, did you know that in Los Angeles in 1984 US boxers only lost 1 decision in the entire games? At the time the president of AIBA was American & the South Korean team nearly withdrew in protest over several favourable decisions. http://www.nytimes.com/1988/09/23/s...oreans-over-84-may-have-spurred-outburst.html
More deflecting by answering a question with a question, you yourself already showed your knowledge in the sport when you mentioned Wlad's performance in 96' as "utterly ****". Lol I didn't say any of that, I agree he wont the 3rd round against Dychko but seriously you're doing him a diservice by hyping him here, for all you know he could be another Audley so don't speak so soon, wait till we get there, otherwise you'll find a lot of people bringing these threads back to laugh at you if doesn't go your way.
He lost the first, lost the 2nd and won the 3rd big. 50/50 fight, either decision fine. But he shoulda lost his 1st fight. I was worried after the first couple of days when a couple of close ones went our way. We don't need that **** some countries pull, but a couple went against us too after that and the only bad decisions i saw were changed on appeal.
Sure let's pretend Joshua wasn't touted as the next Lennox Lewis and the huge favorite for the gold without the help of the judges. And let's act like the BBC network never investigated on corruption in last year's Aiba championship in Azerbaidjan... Joshua is a top 5 Super Heavyweight amateur but he's not a legit gold medalist.
