someone posted a vid of audley from the 2000 olympics in another thread. what surprised me is how good he looked. he looked way way better than anything ive seen at this years tournament.

i agree that AJ is a long ****ing way from a good pro fighter. i suppose you have to give him the benefit of the doubt having a worlds silver and olympic gold in 40 fights.

at the moment i dont see anything that points higher than euro/brit level though.

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? "Great Britain gave the world the best Olympics evaaa!!"

Is that official? Did the world take a vote? What was the criteria used to determine the level of success and rank each Olympic Games? Who was on the judging panel? You don't have any answers for those questions because you just repeat everything the British media feeds you like a good little mindless robot.

It certainly wasnt a bad Olympics.

But it would have been far better in a city built for sporting events, like Manchester. Liverpool or Dublin would be better! London is too fcked up HUGE to be a proper city.

Still, really not a bad effort considering the unconnected sprawl of venues. London was not a bad place to be during the games. Down to the volunteers really , not the organisers. All the volunteers got was a badge and a certificate, they were so shotchanged by the TOry ******* Libdem government for their hard work.

Whoever lost was going to be unlucky. There was nothing outrageous about it.

Firstly you know nothing about me :patsch

Secoundly best stadiums, most well supported games ever so stfu muppett

10000 people in for every boxing session thats more then a lot of profesional bouts. The judging has nothing to do with the brits, its judges from all around the world and chosen by the ioc.

Judging by your sour grapes your probaly from ukraine or something, how did your olympics go, oh sorry your country couldn't afford to put one on.

Plus 2012 is the first olympics to break even with over 1.4 million in the olympic stadium for the athletics in a week. Trust me the tickets weren't cheap my parents paid £150 each for a four hour session.

Brit fans should stop gloating about a guy who should have been out in round 1 of the tournament, but I guess for Brits who are celebrating these undeserved medals it's a bit like being with a girl with huge fake tits, you're ****ing delighted she has them but deep down you know they aint really her's and are indeed paid for.

Not hating on AJ, it's not his fault he failed to deliver on what some of the fans were promising of him.

Well done Luke Campbell btw, he is a quality boxer who actually deserved his medal.

It's just a few posters gloating to be fair, and yeah I agree he's raw but can improve. Like I said it's not his fault he got favourable decisions and in fairness to him he fought tooth and nail in that last round against the Italian.

It's not in dispute that London hosted an amazing Olympics, one of the best ever, and the medal table speaks for itself, anyone disagreeing is just winding you up :good

¿ Best Olympics ever ? , ¿ for whom ? , ¿ the Brits ? . If anything you just showed the world what an EGOTISTICAL people you really are , from the moment that monstruosity of an opening ceremony ( it almost felt like there's still a British empire ) to your biased media behaviour troughout the Games plus the cheating.... The Olympic Games are supposed to celebrate brotherhood among the nations and you turned them into a ego trip . Good for you . Peace .

Where and when was the empire depicted favourably in the opening ceremony? Even the Queen was treated a joke!

If anything imperialism was carefully swept under the carpet in the ceremony.

References to english serfdom, the British iron and steel industry were all direct historical references, not related to the empire directly.

I guess you can interpret them however you want, but to not include them because they relate distantly to empire building is like not noticing the wood for the trees.

I'd only go as far as to agree with you that the Royal Family shouldnt have had any focus in these games, but it being a Jubilee year, its kind of forgiveable.

Whislt its never going to be the best ever organised Olympics, especially in a dump of a city like London, it felt genuinely pleasant and certainly not bad.

The boxing scoring was , as always, controversial.
With decisions seeming to favour hometown fighters.

This statement could apply to the last 8 olympics
