You're right about Chagaev making Wlad miss with rights and in some mid-rounds even his usually very accurate left jab. But Wlad seemed to me just very surprised when Ruslan actually touched him. That is how much Manny has done with Wlad these past four years. He has created a defensive genius who is not hurt when hit but just surprised and more than a little embarrassed. I swear he looked chagrined and embarrassed that he allowed Chagaev to hit him flush off the break at the very end of that round. Wlad's defensive mastery at this stage of his career is a sight to see.
