    I think fighting Gomez is f*cking sh*t. Surely Williams or Cintron or Margarito or some of the other top contenders in the division would be more suitable like Clottey or Collazo. But not Gomez. Thats a joke plain and simple.

    Really, he should be fighting Mayweather right now. I really really hope that somehow that fight gets made instead. Its looking doubtful though.

    I dont understand the Gomez fight either, isnt there an asian fighter who just won the Interim title for Cotto's belt, Cotto is better off taking care of him keeping his belt for another year while waiting for PBF/DLH 2 than making chulk change against Gomez.

    nothing wrong with this fight he deserves a break give him 2 or 3 easy fights **** the guy been fighting tough guys.

    floyd jr had that point when he pot shotted shot fighters like shambra mitchell, gatti, zab, baldomir slow snail guy, corely, bruseles.

    Ya i don't mind Cotto taking this fight. Most other WW aren't available and he has just gone through some wars. He deserves a little stay busy fight.

    He can't fight mayweather... it's quite simple to understand.

    If Mayweather does not fight DLH and goes for Cotto... Cotto will tell Floyd to **** off and fight DLH. It's that simple.

    But, it's true, Cotto could face williams or someone like that.

    It's a stay busy fight, and everybody has some of 'em at one point or another who isn't a bonafide superstar. But I must admit I am disappointed that Gomez will be the opponent.

    Agreed, this is stay busy fight. Willams is fighting in Feb. Arum won't let Cotto fight Cintron unless he vacates his belt. Clottey is Cintron's mandatory. Margarito and Cotto will fight in the fall if they are both successful in april. Cotto needs to stay busy-there is nothing wrong with this fight.

    After this fight I'm hoping that we'll see some unification fights at 147 with Cotto vs Mayweather by the end of this year.

    Even if he couldnt get a name like Williams, Cintron, Mayweather, etc...

    Couldnt he have at least given Mosely a rematch?

    Mosley is the only tough fight that Cotto has fought how does he deserve to take an easy fight. Because he beat Judah coming off of 2 staright losses and a year layoff? I don't understand.

    Very true, but I havent even heard or read about any type of negotiation going on regarding a rematch between the two.
