What the hell is going on?? Kotelnik not only landed the cleaner better shots but he outlanded alexander overall 225 to 202. Alexander looked confused and a hell of a lot of his shots were just straight into kotelniks gloves or arms while kotelnik often rocked devons head back, with jabs and combinations!! I know its hard to get a decision in the states but that was rediculous. Home brewing all the way i think. If there was rematch in the ukraine or whereever kotelnik is from, alexander would drop a wide decision, what a load of rubbish
I feel your pain bro, But in the end Boxing is a money game as are all major sports. Alexander is the "Guy" Promoters/companies (HBO) who sponsored the event put the money up for. I know it suck's to admit but it's true... (Kotelnik should have got the nod, But I wasn't surprised one bit)
Im not a big kotelnik fan but its annoying when people go on and on about clean and effective punching but when they see it, do nothing about it. If for example the tables were turned and the american was on the end of that decision in some foreign land, this place would be up in arms with insults hurled at everyone in europe, but since its the other way around, almost nothing
Most of the American sportswriters agree with the decision, they can't even admit that Alexander got his arse kicked. Even Alexander's hometown fans were embarrassed to cheer for the "winner" after the fight.
On an interesting note, days before the fight Alexander went from a 10-1 fav to a 20-1 fav...that's some big movement.
Lederman goes on and on about alexander coming forward and throwing punches!! A high percentage of them hit kotelniks guard, is the guy going blind i wonder?? When lederman told us alexander clearly won round 2 i knew something was up, kotelnik won round 2 and in it he landed nealy 5 times as many jabs as devon, amazing
