Just watching Jackson Junior attempt to land a money counter on Chekhkiev, he did catch him nicely a couple of times but is too inactive and is taking a fair bit of punishment by Chakhkiev.

 

Well, yes, 10 years and 20+ fights ago.

C'mon, the guy's had 60 fights and this is only the 3rd time he's been stopped. Sure, he's past it, but that ain't the record of a guy with a glass chin, specially since much of his career has been at HW.

This fight is heading for a foregone conclusion. I'm pretty sure Junior won't try to engage too much as he's tasted Chakhkiev's power, so he's tucking those hands up and just trying to make Chak miss, it's not working though.

 

Chakhkiev gets the somewhat early stoppage in the fourth. Junior was down once before being stopped on his feet. Chakhkiev improves to 21-1 (16 KO), while Junior drops to 15-2 (13 KO).

 

And that's all she wrote, Jackson stopped punching and Chakhkiev kept throwing those looping left hands until one went through and down went Jackson, he was okay but shaky and then Chakhkiev jumped all over him winging shots in and the ref steps into stop the fight (slightly British stoppage) but Jackson Junior was his own worst enemy in that one, if you don't want the other guy to punch you, you have to use a jab or make him pay for coming inside, he did neither and just postured and ate punches for two rounds and that was the result.

 

Junior isn't bad at all, but he's a mid-small LHW fighting what are either in effect (Lepikhin and Savigne) or in fact Cruiserweights (Chakiev) - he is decent, but not good enough to make up for that kinda size differential.

 

Gomez was KTFO by Kudryashov in half a minute flat? :scaredas:
