Well I'm not real sure if this is a concussion or not b/c I know I have had them before but my head is woozy after a sparring session. I mean know one said anything or noticed by the way I acted or anything like that and I tried alot of things like sensitivity to light and I imagine that a concussion would be alot more head ache or vomitting, which I don't really have any of. Just a little bit light headed thats all, was wondering though if I could be getting concussions and not knowing about it. I have never been knocked down in sparring but I just worry sometimes because I spar with people who are alot bigger.
i've had a few in my life, mostly outside of boxing though. when you get a good concussion theres no mistaking it, id be very surprised if you ever got one and didnt realize it.
That lightheaded feeling is symptomatic of neurological damage. What it means is that you are taking too many hits. You need to get back to the fundamentals and correct the flaws in your style. Improve your defense and you will find that lightheaded feeling will go away.
This has happened to me once. I was fighting someone who was about 30 pounds over me. He kept pounding me with punches, and I had my guard down the whole time. Afterwards, I felt really sick; couldn't really point out how I felt sick: it was a mixture of a lightheadedness and I felt sort of sick to the stomach. It lasted the next day too. But I was fine after that. Keep your guard up at all times.
it's boxing. its gonna happen. coming away from a sparring session with a headache is just a reminder to work on your defense.
Be carefull man, headaches are signs of bleeding in the brain. If your getting them, then go get your self checked. If your ok, then stop sparring too much and practice your defense
