Oh yeah no doubt but im assuming you mean those like 22-2 type guys. When im watching ESPN and see those 2-7 fighters who fight once every 3 years im 100 percent postive id destroy them.

Had one of them sessions today. We go running over these hills over the top down around and back up again. I did it for an hour today, 5 laps more than everyone else and was the last man standing. I thought 'I can run all day. Nobody can run like this. Easy work.' ETC.

    Hahaha.

I feel amazing now, my trainer came up to me after the session and said "Everyday you're here you get better and better" and said he went harder in sparring with me because of it, still don't think he landed though :p

are you guys for real, greg unfortunately in reality you wouldnt struggle they would struggle to not stop you with the first shot they land

have any of you guys ever sparred pros???

to say you could destroy pros with 7 - 22 record is a bold statement even the best amateurs in the world struggle when fighting pros first unless the likes of gold medal winners

if you keep getting these days when you feel like your the best in the world your sparring must be terrible quality, i think its better to have more days when you think damn i really need to work harder that guy owned my ass, when you get these eye openers it adds motivation if you keep thinking no one can beat you it can lead to complacency, i train under 14's and their is one black kid who is a bit of a bully and has started fighting like floyd jr, left arm down, shoulder rolling etc, the guy is the best of the bunch and is quite good his hands are quick as **** but he started getting complacent doing **** all in training and walking with a swagger then he turned up to training with a tooth pick in his mouth, that night i sparred a round with him and made sure to land some hard jabs on him, afterwards i took him aside and said that he could be quite good if he put in the work and i bust his lip just to prove a point, now he is putting in the extra work and is coming to my club to where i train to get better sparring and improve, i think at time he actuallly thought he was floyd junior

    It's called speed. :smile

I'm ****ing about bro, you did good.

I think we all like to feel like that at times, I think it's important to be confident and it's a good feeling to have, but it's also far more important to keep grounded.

without a doubt to install confidence and encouragement is essential even if deep down you are thinking something else, but limit the confidence giving to appropriate levels of the fighter, if someone gets too big for their boots bring in a guy to spar who is better

i know if i fought a pro they would beat the **** out of me. I just always sit there thinking i could beat that guy. Although name me a fighter who thinks they will lose?

The complete opposite happened to me yesterday. I spar a very talented guy quite often, he's at least 30 pounds heavier but holds back well. He always keeps the level a notch above what I can handle, so I always feel like I'm complete **** against him. He complimented me yesterday, he said he has been steadily increasing the level and was impressed with how I coped with it.

I agree with the top poster, you get those days were you feel good.

Then you get those days coming in were you think your good, and then everything goes to complete ****, and you cant even find range. Fighting frustrated sucks, you always end up getting your ass kicked for charging in with no jab :rofl
