Here's a Duran story ya might get a kick outta:

In the mid ‘70s Roberto Duran was the terror of the lightweight division. Nobody in his right mind would face him.

Edwin Viruet, a sweet-boxing Puerto Rican with very little pop was offered a main-go with “Hands of Stone” at the Nassau Coliseum.

Without firepower, Viruet figured to be eaten alive. Duran was 52-1, with 45 KO’s.

Viruet couldn't punch, but he had no nerves. Duran didn’t faze him a bit.

Fight night, all were prepared to see Viruet butchered, or at least run for his life.

But, Viruet did the unthinkable. He mocked Duran – taunted him, made faces, stuck out his tongue, punched behind his back in clinches.

The fans loved it -- howled with laughter. Viruet was making Duran look a fool. And Hands of Stone got more crazed. He didn't just want to kill Viruet; he wanted to dismember him and grind his bones to powder

Though Duran was winning handily by the 10th round, the crowd was chanting for Viruet. One guy yelled-out with admiration:

"HE DOESN'T KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD FEAR!"

Somebody shot back: "...OR CAT OR DOG!"

 

Brings a big grin. You've experienced some tasty stuff, bb

 

Understand why you say that, S...but did you ACTUALLY see it. In all the years I was around Duran, never saw him shy from any living human...'n should probably include lions 'n tigers
