Only go to the body, even if he insists you also go to the head. Sometimes you have to be the more mature one. However if he starts throwing bombs to my head then all bets are off
Yup, In that case I would just tap tap spar, just for movement. Unless he hits me hard then it's free game. lol
well when i recently bought my facebar headgear, and wore it for the first time i forgot to put my mouth peice on oddly enough i didnt notice it till the third round when i crunched my teeth together and felt my teeth instead of the mouthpeice. lucky enough my headgear practically protected me from the guys jabs and i was able to slip and counter my way through the rounds without getting nailed with a big shot and my sparring partner and coach never even found out till the end of the session. The best sparring session i ever had that being said, body shots or go for straight shots , forehead area. Or ask him to wear a facebar headgear haha they protect well just no uppercuts, with or without it. if he throws bombs then you even it up.
if the dumbass doesnt put in a shield its his own problem, same with guys that dont wear headgear because they think their to "hard" for it. beat a guy up for not wearing a headguard last year, his face was just a red bruised and bloodied mess at the end but he has worn a headguard sparring ever since
Happens all the time. I'm not an *******, so I punch them to the body and all other places on the face except the mouth. If they don't behave I punch them in the mouth, too.
I also go more for the body with light jabs to the head. But like everyone else has already said of he starts throwing bombs teach him why he should wear a mouth guard and head gear
I did what you all said to do: just kept hitting him with a jab to the body, or going for a left hook to the body. But he got cocky and started stepping in with flurries to my head. I turned it up, but I feel I let him get off easy. It would have been better if I'd hit him to the head right away so he'd be scared, and too scared to come in and hit me. I'm sure I caught him a few times, but I have no way of knowing how hard my punches land. And I don't turn into punches or lob bombs in sparring. We're told to go hard to the body, and light to the head.
My experience with this has been, the person who "forgot" the mouthpiece tells me to only go to the body and then proceeds to try and take my head off. If I hit them in the face after they pull that **** then they get all pissy and whine about not having the guard on. At this point I just try to avoid sparring any of the people who do that (usually the people have a habit of pulling that kind of crap) or if they try and take my head off I just say **** em and hit back hard. The mouthpiece is just an excuse to not get hit in the face while they try and beat you up, so their ego can grow and they think they are badass.
if it was intentional, wouldn't the gym kick your ass out? If they allow that stuff, what's next? Sparring without gloves on?
knocked the front crown of is tooth,,buying a gum shield as to be cheaper than a dentist bill ,,,he was a twat anyway
