Twice. Once with a pro kickboxer who was taller than me and so fast I couldn't even touch him, I gassed inside 1 round and went into a defensive shell then. I think he took it easy on me.

The other time was with a SMW journeyman who wasn't very good, as tall as me but bigger and stronger, he was fast and aggressive and hit me with about every punch in the book until the trainer stopped it. He did buzz me once, with a big right hand.

a couple of weeks ago i was sparring with a guy who had just turned pro he was a good fighter had something like a 35-4 amateur record we did 3 rounds it was meant to be just body shots as i did'nt have my mouthguard with me i actually got the better of him for the first 2 rounds i would say he took the third but he was fighting really dirty by the end of it trying to grab hold of 1 of my hands and then hit me standing on my feet punched me in the neck a couple of times and pushing his head into my face stuff like that then right on the bell of the 3rd round he cracked me in the face with an absolute hayemaker gave me a bloody nose but i was kinda suprised as i was'nt hurt or stunned at all just a bit suprised (it was my 1st day at this new gym) but i guess it's all a learning experience he did try and apoligise but i think it was deliberate he just did'nt like getting his ass kicked by the new kid :) who has had 0 amateur fights

Sparred a future pro in my younger days. He only ended up having 6 pro fights (6-0 record) had an ex HW champ in Witherspoon mentoring him but he ended up being a doorman instead...

Yea, thanks for reminding me of my age. Edwin was possibly there to train for a fight. Rossenblatt was a B to B+ fighter. I really thought he could have taken Lucas. Dana avenged his only lost to Paz and that was an emotionally speech he gave after the fight. I BS with him all the time at the gym. I remember telling him not to fall for any of Paz's mind games by talking trash and then throw that infamous haymaker which caught Dana in the first fight. Dana was winning that fight until that punch. If he would have had better trainers, he would have been a world champion. Well, that is my opinion. He did not want to spar me due to thinking I would get too serious and then he would had had to put the pain on me. Very down to earth gentleman. Hope he is doing well.

I can believe it. I had one guy that was turning pro and I was getting the better of him with right uppercuts. What he did was he jammed his left elbow into my right uppercut and my right arm froze. He did he me with a shot that daze me. His corner jumped in and preceeded to yell at him. The pulled me aside afterward and told me that I had a mean right uppercut. He was a lefty. This happened in the Hall of Fame Gym in Newark and I was trained by Esteban DeJesus's cousin. A lot of gym wars there for sure. Bo James, Mayfield, Bobby Cyz, and numerous others.

When I answered I thought he meant that he had no boxing experience.

I find it hard to believe that any established amateur who is tuning to pro could lose against total newbie in sport of boxing. Even if that guy would be madly talented it doesn’t seem likely.

Just my experience, but when I sparred first time in my gym, I couldn’t even touch more experienced guy I was sparring with.
That guy isn’t even near pro level, just regional amateur fighters.

Then again there are Zelenovs, Andrew Hartleys and other "pro fighters" who couldn’t beat anyone.
But they aren’t real boxers anyway.

Well said and absolutely true, I've been lucky even hopping in with a few unnamed guys they just played/carried me thru a few minutes but true even to be 1-3 the skills are impressive.
