Some would argue the Middleweight champion was the superior of the two. Not me, personally, however.

If we are, in fact, being fair, we have to acknowledge that Dempsey was a shadow of his former self by the time Fitz got to him. Still a decent win, though, given the comparatively early stage of his career that Fitz was at.

Dempsey was pretty highly regarded still, going in. The evidence is, in retrospect, that he had slipped, but i'm not happy writing him off as a shadow without footage. I admit he might have been though. Either way, Fitz cleaned his clock.

Fitz was the superior fighter. Of that I've no doubt.

    Good afternoon all,

I am actually a motorcycle fan and as usual whenever I hear a cricketer or a golfer being talked about on the TV or radio like they were they only sport that existed I always get wound up! The other day it occurred to me that the UK sport with most world champions was motorcycling but then on reflection I thought " No I bet it's boxing".

So here's the reason I'm posting; I think there may be more individuals in motorcycling but if you include the successful defences by boxing champions I think you have it!
Whilst your list of champions is great could you list the number of successful defences as well?

Sorry to move the thread off line a bit.

    Cheers
