How would this end corruption? The score is made public afterward too and no matter how bad the score card was, nothing comes out of it. It is scoring based on the judge's interpretation of what punch they think was more effective and the ring generalship. Even live scoring won't change this. The only way to end this is follow money trail and hold judges accountable. Have judges explain their scoring.
When there this open scoring, the judges scores will be displayed on big screens throughout the arena. I for sure believe that a crowd reacting angrily to a judge's score during the matchup can influence the judges. It shouldn't be allowed. And like someone else said previous, it will change the way a boxer fights. if he knows that he's up, he can run around for a few rounds because he knows that he can afford to. Robbing the fans of action.
You are correct that Canelo vs Trout had open scoring announced at fixed intervals (I could have sworn there was a major HW example). This may be evidence against open scoring fixing favoritism.
I don't see how that's any different than a crowd reacting to punches. How many times have we had a popular fighter Throwing Punches that are getting blocked but the crowd cheers every time they throw anyway? If the judges do not get swayed by that then there's no reason to assume they will be swayed by the crowd reacting negatively to a round that has already been scored.
Booing and cursing live scores will have a far different effect than crowds cheering on action and not knowing the scorecard.
