No Virgil Hill won the lineal title agaisnt Henry Maske in 1996 and lost to Michalczewski, who lost to Gonzalez who list to Erdei.

So Hopkins and Calzaghe were not lineal at Light Heavy.

It's contentious. Virgil Hill unified 2 titles in a fight with Henry Maske, and they were considered the top 2 guys, so some called in a new lineage at light heavy, and a few objected because there was still the WBC belt about. Then the more fashionable Roy Jones won all the belts, and most people forgot about Hill, and him losing the lineage to Dariusz Michalczewski.
