It's contentious. Virgil Hill unified 2 titles in a fight with Henry Maske, and they were considered the top 2 guys, so some called in a new lineage at light heavy, and a few objected because there was still the WBC belt about. Then the more fashionable Roy Jones won all the belts, and most people forgot about Hill, and him losing the lineage to Dariusz Michalczewski.

Duran is lineal in both weights. His weterweight title runs from Jose Napoles and the Lightweight title was lineal when he won it (he later unified it as well),
