Well it's been some time since Pac and Floyd won a big fight vs. a prime opponent, so that makes Martinez, who trashed Pavlik, Williams and Dzinziruk in a row, the best fighter on the planet today it's as simply as that.

If dealing with reality makes you go nuts, chill the f out! :hat

It not dealing with reality, its being realistic. Martinez has a quality win there last night no doubt, but no way does it take him P4P #1, same with Donaire the other week....People go wayy over the top

Im not saying dont get excited over them, they have been unbelivable the past few weeks. But seriously people need to chill before they go nuts and start talking madness

Dzi is not even rated top 10 by the Ring at MW. Putting this into perspective, this is the equivalent of Pac knocking out Peterson, Urango, or Kotelnik.

Martinez didn't just win a big fight that many had felt was going to be a tough assignment, he dominated Dzinziruk and looked sensational in doing so.

That being said, Manny is still the best fighter in the world.

it's like all that matters to these people is that the opponent is prime. I can find a couple of bums who are in their prime but have no skill, beat them up and say I'm better than Pacquiao because Margarito and Mosley are past their primes?

And what? Clottey was not prime? A prime Clottey is a better fighter than a prime Sergei Dzinziruk. Or at the very least he is not worse and he also had a huge size advantage on Pac.

And what the hell makes Pavlik more prime than Margarito or Cotto?

    It's laughable.

Martinez is my boy and I'm a big fan, but let's be real, no way is he the number one P4P fight in the world. At best, he's maybe number two due to Floyd's inactivity. ESB does this **** all the time. After Donaire beat Montiel, he was all of a sudden good enough to outclass 122 versions of Pac, Barrera and Morales. Ridiculous.

It is the culture of the internet; instant information, short attention spans, and instant judgments. Win a big fight, instant P4P discussion-lose a fight, instantly overrated. Half the people that spew nonsense probably don't even what they post...

I agree people do over react but honestly i agree this time. Martinez deserves to move up to the #1.

At least he's fighting young champions guys in their prime.

Pac last four fights and the next one are a joke.

    Young champions in their prime?

    Williams won the first fight

Pavlik was not in his prime, Pacs win over Cotto is just as good if not better

Sergei Dzinziruk, a good fighter and a good win,but seriously before this fight got announced he wasnt even top 20 p4p who had he beat? Pac win over Hatton is just as good if not better

Williams 2 is his best win by miles, but by no means put him P4P #1

    Get real
