Exactly. And Margarito walked straight through those shots. Just like he walked straight through Cintron's big right hands. He almost found them laughable. I'm not a Margo fan at all, but the guy's chin is amazing. I under-rated it pre-Cotto and now can hold my hands up and say I got it wrong, the guy has such fantastic punch resistance and great heart. Isn't it worth mentioning that since you seem to think Tito can knock everybody out at 147, that Mayorga let Trinidad hit him flush with not one, not two, but three left hooks and was completely unfazed?
I disagree. Trinidad fought much better on the offense than off the back foot. Margarito would back him up and I don't think he would get as clean and as powerful shots off.
And Tito coming forward makes it easier for Margarito. Two come-forward fighters always makes for some fireworks. Margarito has the better chin, Tito has the better power. History suggests that a great chin outlasts great power (other attributes aside). That's clearly your problem, you look at everything purely from Tito's side. I hope you're not a betting man, because bias can bankrupt you.
You don't think Robinson has a chance? Wow. That man had the combination of speed, power and combinations second to nobody. And best of all, he could go toe-to-toe without fear of getting stopped himself, such was his chin. Hearns not so much. If he went for the knockout, he'd risk being knocked out himself.
I'm not talking later. I'm talking then. 3, count them 3 of the easiest left hooks he will ever get to land, in terms of hitting him flush and having time to get leverage behind them, and Mayo laughed them off.
Let's face it, he's no Oscar De La Hoya. Now THAT was a left-hook! This content is protected Priceless. :rofl
Robinson knocked Gene Fullmer out cold with one left hook, and he had a very, very good chin indeed. I think he could knock Margarito out. Same with Barbados Joe Walcott.
People are overrating the hell out of this guy based on his performance against Miguel Cotto, who in the grande scheme of things is nowhere near the same level as the greats of the division.
Mayweather could probably out point him, Paul Williams has a shot. Margarito would go the distance but lose a wide decision. And the others KO'd within 10,except maybe the man from ghana.
Oh i agree, but hes big and would probably go the distance. I don't see why everyone thinks he is god around here though.
