I don't open with the insults and disrespect - though I will answer. Look back on these posts - you're repeating the same bull****. Hopkins has a history of sparse activity. A HISTORY. Intelligent people aren't going to try and find convenient answers for that. THERE IS NO EXPLANATION. Calzaghe has not been the only opponent to cause Hopkins to react this way. Time to move along to the next point. I've already taken that one.

First of all - when Hopkins did open up he got the better of it. Let's start there.

    So did Taylor.

It's all about styles though. Pavlik was there to be hit, he comes forward in straight lines and has little defensive skill. If it's easy to make contact, its easier to throw more punches surely??

Calzaghe is different, he forced the pace and if Hopkins had matched Calzaghe he'd have tired himself out - did you not see towards the end he was gassing badly? I think you're being a bit disrespectful of Calzaghes win and also seem to be saying that Bernard was stupid enough to not do something he could easily have done - he's not stupid, he's one of the most intelligent fighters around.

Let's not make any assumptions. I appreciate Calzaghe far more than you apparently realize. That isn't how we came to this point. And again, you're hugging to this issue of why Hopkins wasn't throwing - the reason itself - that's all speculation. I established a history. Taylor? Yes, that's right. So we've got one more than Calzaghe - and there are probably others as well, eh? So "what Joe was doing" goes right the **** out the window. Glad we estalished that. Again.

Just 2? There were more than that. You're asking me to go into the fight itself - that I don't have the time for.

Hopkins lost those fights because he wasn't good enough not because he chose to throw few punches. Hopkins COULDNT throw many punches against Calzaghe because he's too quick & would counter with a flurry then tie him up. (as well as other reasons stated by others timing footwork etc)
