Everybody keeps talking bout Margo's handwraps, what happened to his CHIN?

It was ruint in a cumulative fashion. Add to that the tension and confusion of the scandal in his dressing room just prior to the fight. Finish it up w/a supremely prepared and motivated Sugar Shane Mosely ?

No surprise (in retrospect) that a future HoFer fighting at his currently best weight, beats Margarito like a big bass drum.

 

Does anyone think Margo might have just understimated Mosley and been distracted?
He didnt look the same at all.

I would say i wanna see a rematch since the Margo that fight that night did not look right even from before teh fight started. Then again he took such a beating it was sad to watch. Margo is a warrior regardless the whole handwrap incident and i hope he gets some good rest. People forget these past 2 years he has fought all the top WWs. Who else has done that in this the best division in boxing?

Also those shots Mosley landed were huge. U can see all of Shanes body going into them. I think those shots right there would have KOd any WW and probably most MWs even.
Mosley has great power.

 

Everytime I see this gif I laugh because of ref pausing and the last right hand that tags Margo to put him down one more time.

I think it was the fact that he took to many shots.

Plus Cotto didnt go to the body as much as SSM did which wore down Margo.

Mosley showed everyone the best way to break Margo down.

 

Even Granite can break, and Mosley was ****ing throwing punches that were pure power, everything he landed was thrown like a KO shot.

There isnt anyone else in the division that could have taken those kinds of punches for as long as Margarito did.

 

He still has a very good chin. Shane wore him down and knocked him over a couple of times. Not like he hit him and his legs went, like Tommy Morrison or Khan.

Margo just got beat up, beat down and couldn't fight back. He still has a good chin, Mosley just thought a great fight, and unlike Cintron and Cotto, didn't get disheartened when Margo walked through the early assault. He kept pressurising him and it worked.

 

Tony took more clean-power shots from Mosley than he did Cotto. And you can tell Shane was packing power in those punches. It was only a matter of time before Margarito dropped in my opinion.

 

Handwrap incident aside. After re watching the Cotto-Margarito fight, Ctto was definetly not as physical with AM as SSM was with AM.

Cotto's gameplan seemed to be to outbox Margarito on the back foot, when in reality Mosely has shown everyone that you have to take it to Margarito, rough him up a bit.

Seeing Margarito back peddle while Shane was walking him down was weird. Cotto wasnt smart in the ring, he got cought up in the Mexican/Puerto Rican business and tried to trade while on the ropes - big mistake.

Shane never let AM set his feet. Another thing i noticed and i guess Am's next opponents will know now is that the dude smiles when he's hurt and comes skipping forward regardless.

I saw dude smiling while he was getting knocked down by shane. Before the Mosely it must have been will breaking to see this dude smiling back at you after you had just gave him your biggest bombs, but i guess what Mosely knew was he wasnt going to be discouraged by AM smiling back.

He "Knocked the grease off" AM.

Great fight, it was good to see Margarito beat up, he's dished out the punishment and loved it (loaded gloves and all) so it was refreshing to see him put on his ass.

His chin was good but almost any fighter who takes that many flush shots will get knocked out.

 

because Mosley didn't tire out like Cotto did....Shane wasn't hit with loaded gloves so Mosley still had the energy to go for the kill. Same could be said about Cintron...who knows. God knows how long Margo was getting away with loaded wraps.

 

i think this fight is just further proof how great margaritos chin is. He was taking bombs throughout the fight. I actually felt kinda scared for him at some points. I mean holy ****, Mosley was throwing haymaker, after haymaker. Any one of those punches would have dropped any normal welterweight.

Some of those Mosley shots were full force haymakers.

And it was a two handed bombardment too.

The punch that started Margarito's first KD of the fight came from a left handed bomb.

 

the cheating must have spread from his hands to his chin.
