Everybody must be in agreement that Billy Joe Saunders is a really good fighter now

Great to see him fulfilling his potential under Ingle. He always had the ability, he was a great Youth amateur and he qualified for the senior Olympics at 18. Has won british, commonwealth, European and World titles. Slick brilliant boxing skills, speed, jab, chin, elusiveness, movement. He seems to fight to the level of his opponent, which results in some under par performances which lead some people to believing inferior fights like Eubank Jr even have a chance against him. But Saunders has proved to be the best 2008 Olympian and a top tier fighter, some big nights ahead for him

I don't think anyone with half a brain doubted his skill. It was his work ethic and mentality that was the problems.

Him being an inactive reluctant champion who until last weekend had made the softest defences this side of Deontay Wilder saw him get a lot of criticism that he totally deserved.

It's now up to him to maintain the momentum he's built in his last two fights and earn the big money/respect he wants.

He defo gone up lots of notches in my book as I didn’t rate him at top level but on reflection was my view blurred by the fact I think he is such a knob outside the ring. What he needs now is good management and that means someone to make him into a likeable star rather than someone to hate in the panto called pro Boxing. Look at AJ...apparently not the nicest guy on the streets prior to Boxing but look at the halo on his head now.

Everyone knew he was a massive talent, it's just his lifestyle and dedication.

With top fitness and full concentration, BJS gives Canelo & GGG hell. Not saying he beats them but he takes them both into deep waters.

You'll never change the way Billy acts outside the ring. He is simply uneducated and far from politically correct. He will never change and become a (fake) 'golden boy' like AJ.

GGG is an ATG but I strongly believe Saunders is too much for him at this stage of their careers.
Canelo made GGG miss and countered him a number of times, and I reckon Saunders is quicker, certainly on his feet than Canelo.

To think that Saunders took the Lemieux fight on the flip of a coin (he literally did) makes me worry that he will not achieve what he is capable of. Travellers generally strike me as an ethnic group that are a slave to nobody. Pride and honour comes first and if that means walking away from a huge defining payday, simply because they think a promoter is taking the **** then they will.

I just hope Saunders achieves what he’s capable of. I don’t care if he’s a tool outside the ring, but it would be a big shame if he wastes his talent inside it.

BJS at his best beats Canelo IMO, i've always thought that, not that he'd ever get the decision though.

I personally think he won’t get the GGG fight but might get Canelo fight if he loses again to GGG but I think BJS hardest fight out there is Jacobs in my opinion as he’s very sharp and hard to hit too.

People are getting way too carried away after that performance.

Lemiuex was an out of shape, caveman who was damaged goods and came up with overly predicable approach.

    Tailor made for Billy.

Canelo, GGG, even Jacobs are a whole different kettle of fish and I guarantee you they would not be allowing Billy Joe to be having his own way, playing around in the ring.

Bill always had it..But I don't think he lived right or had the motivation. It must be hard when you have a good life and a few quid. But he seems like he's doing things right under Ingle..Looked a different fighter.I know DL don't have much more than power but Bill made him look crude.

BJS isn't a traveller - he's from a Romany community (Romanichals) - a subgroup of a folk who emigrated from India about 1000 years ago. The Fury's are Irish travellers. The ethnicity of travellers is still debated but current best guess is that they are indigenous Irish folk who, for reasons unknown, became nomadic and, as they only married amongst themselves, completely diverged from the settled Irish.

Thanks mate, apologies for the inaccuracy. I say ‘travellers’ as a alternative to ‘gypsies’ which I believe is not politically correct anymore.

Billy Joe was always a really good boxer, great skills, footwork and punch selection it was only his conditioning that seemed to be lacking in the past, with that sorted hopefully we will see him in against the bets in his division and he will have imo a great chance against anyone at middleweight
