Everybody must be in agreement that Billy Joe Saunders is a really good fighter now

I don't seem to recall u say some of these things....what u did say was that Lemmy would KO Saunders. Now Lemmy is tailored made for Saunders? Hindsight eh.....

 

Ah come on bud, prior to the fight you had Lemieux wiping the floor with him, he proved you wrong so, you’ve gotta give some credit to him. You’re right that he flattered BJS but I would put that down to styles (boxer vs puncher) rather than being out of shape ‘damaged’ goods. I do think Lemieux should move up to 168 though, it’s killing him getting to that weight but this was a class divide.

 

No need to apologise to me. Until recently, I also thought BJS was a traveller, in part due to the similarity of his boxing style and "traditional" views to the Furys. Most Romani folk I have encountered have had darker skin than BJS (supposedly the term "gypsy" is derived from people thinking they came from Egypt).

 

I had no idea that Lemieux would show up looking like a pregnant penguin.

He looked old and completely washed up with absolutely no idea how to adjust.

You only have to look at someone like Degale who can become a shadow of themselves overnight.

If he boxed like the other night he would beat Canelo all wrong for him. If he performed like that would have 50/50 chance with today's GGG who remember isnt going to get any better now because of age

 

BJS has always undoubtedly been a top talent, it was his conditioning and discipline that held him back. Something seems to have clicked and under Ingle he looks outstanding

 

He needs to fight regularly now, he’ll lose his discipline otherwise

 

I'm sure I've seen BJS describe himself as an 'English Traveller' and have met a few people who have described themselves as such before myself.

 

I think most people knew he was very good, which he is. and Saturday night proved it to me how good a boxer he is. But Lemieux was not that good, I agree Saunders made him look bad by Saunders being so good.

We will see in any unification fight he may have.

Many people just dont like him as a person though

I honestly didnt think he had enough variation and consistency in his work to keep control of the range, long enough to keep lemmy from ktfo.
I always knee he was a good fighter but felt lemmy would catch him and tbf, who can blame me for that.
Non of his prior performances had been on that level.
Bjs suprised all of us to some degree on sat night

 

Badly got it wrong, which can happen to a lot people with predictions. But saying after the fight that the loser - who u backed to wiped the floor and KO Saunders is tailored made for him is pretty cringe worthy to read.

Therefore u need to have your crow serve freezing cold with ice.

BJS really does have it. The eye, the understanding. He's elite and can beat GGG and Canelo if he has his night and fights his best.

He has to do the Floyd Mayweather level pace setting though. He was very good against Lem but abit more efficiency and he'll have no problems with GGG.

 

Have to admit, I wasn’t in the least bit surprised by it, but I was relieved that he demonstrated his potential. I hope he can inspire more lads from them communities to take a chance on a career in boxing, rather than fixing driveways and other labourous jobs. The pressure on them to start earning at a young age does seem to pull them away from the sport.
