Everybody realizes that Avalos wasn't Frampton's best win, right?

IB, where would a W against Quigg rank among his victories? I personally see Frampton spank Quigg.

    Then it'd be:

    Martinez II/I
    Quigg
    Cazares
    Molitor
    Hirales/Avalos

That's in his favor, all the world's best countries (USA, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Scandanavia, Netherlands, Germany etc) are Protestant.

The weak South America economies, south European failures like Spain, Italy, Greece and the financial basket-case that is Rep. Ireland are all Roman Catholic.

On the subject of Scandinavia, half of Swedes, a sixth of Danes, a quarter of Finns are in fact atheistic/irreligious - probably more of a contributing factor to why they rank among the best countries than which sect the rest of them subscribe to. ;)

Interestingly the Danes consistently score high resolution in "happiness" surveys. They are consistently the happiest people on earth.

As regards the Banana Republic of Ireland, yes indeed it is a financial basket case, but the financial problems are just symptoms of a far deeper malaise.

Maybe the fight being being shown on a major UK free to air channel has had something to do with it

I have heard casual boxing fan friends raving about it.

Off-topic: Im from Denmark and that study is BS.

    - Many danes takes depression pills compared to other countries
    - Bullying in Denmark compared to other countries is pretty bad
    - Suicide rates in DK have never been higher

The only reason Denmark won was that people was satisfied because our universal welfare model, but that comes with the highest tax rates in the world.

    On-Off-Topic.

I'm not Danish. And that study is not BS. It's a study that has studified the Danes happiness and concluded they are the most least unhappy people in the world. The suicide rates support this notion, the unhappy ones are being removed from equation leaving only the happy ones to answer the survey.

Also, Danish people are drunk most of the time, increasing happiness when drunk, and increasing suicideness when sober IMO. Why are we discussing the Dalish btw?

Some Fury/Eubank Jnr/Degale fights have been on free to air in the UK, but on channel 5 which gets relatively low ratings. Those fights were shown due to Mick Hennessey's contract with the channel.

Golovkin v Murray was on 5 too.

However boxing being back on one of the major free channels (ITV) in the UK is a fairly big deal

Yeah, it was on ITV, so basically all you need is a TV license to watch it. It was the first world title bout ITV have shown since Carl Froch v Jean Pascal. (however Frampton was on ITV1, and Froch-Pascal on ITV4, so you'd need a freeview box with the extra channels for Froch-Pascal).

All have Framptons other fights have been on subscription based Boxnation or Sky.

I'll be honest, prior to last week I'm not sure I had ever heard of ITV. Since it was Frampton headlining I kind of assumed it stood for "Irish Television" and was strictly a NI channel as opposed to UK-wide.

So it basically is the equivalent of the major terrestrial (non-pay-cable) networks over here? Like ABC/NBC/CBS/Fox?

As for Danes and their disposition - I have little on which to base an opinion (not having met too many personally) but the couple of Danish personalities that have my close interest - Mikkel Kessler, and Mette Lindberg of the Asteroids Galaxy Tour (whom I've seen in person 4-5 times) seem like very happy and self-confident people.

In fact, upon a visit to a glowing rocks museum in Amsterdam, the old hippie curator spent a good hour lecturing me about how in his decades of traveling all over Europe he found that Danes were by far the most arrogant people, and very much about keeping up appearances of superiority relative to others.

So maybe all that self-reported data indicating how content they are has to do with their culturally ingrained stoicism about 'presenting a happy face' and projecting confidence outwardly no matter what is going on internally? :think Just playing armchair shrink/anthropologist here.

The Finns are supposed to be the ones in Scandinavia with the crazy high depression/suicide rates (many will remember Carl Froch insensitively making light of those statistics during a Showtime promo filming his arrival in Finland to face Abraham)
