exactly. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if both sides are "in on this" and it's just a ploy to get more media attention and hype for the fight. If you watched ESPN yesterday this was one of their leading stores. A show like "Pardon the Interruption", which barely covers boxing, actually lead their show with this story. It was also one of the top stories on Sportscenter, Around the Horn, and all over the radio waves.

It makes for a dramatic story.

I realized most of this was bull when Manny wrote that statement about the lawsuit.

Expect this thing to be resolved and officially ON in a few days.

 

Yea it is a whole lot of money, and they would be fools to turn it down over silly little obstacles, but in the end if Pacquaio and Mayweather don't sign that dotted line, then what can we do?

Again, yea the money is a ridiculous amount, but sometimes it isn't the end all be all of the situations...look at what happened to Dave Chappelle lol

 

I agree, the fight will happen. People can waste their time arguing back and forth, making accusations. In the end, the fight will be signed, both fighters will be drug tested, both will come clean, and Floyd will get his ass whooped.

 

Eventually they will fight, these demands and this gamesmanship will end, but for ****s sake, make it official already.

Then maybe we can get some real discussion about the fight, strategies and all, not a contest of which fighter has more fans who can claim a hypothetical victory because the other guy "wants out" due to "fear" or "cheating".

 

Hype sells fights. All of these accusations, call-outs, and innuendos are getting the fight free publicity.

I agree, greed is one of the most natural human instincts....and the fight will happen...My personal opinion, with the law suit threat....the fight will be pushed back to July....not march....

If we don't have it signed by the first week in january...the fight won't happen march 13...

It's not as simple as that. You have MEGA corporations involved in this with HBO (Time Warner) and the MGM Grand (MGM group) and if you think that they are going to sit by and watch this fight fall apart because of Mayweather and his paranoia and Pacquiao and his superstitions you are out of your mind. Time Warner and MGM could make it very difficult for EVERYONE to do business if they walk away from this fight. That would affect Arum, Golden Boy, and both fighters very badly. Don't think for a second they wouldn't exert that kind of pressure if it comes down to it.

 

i wish it was but the damage was done already. do you think pacquaio is just bluffing when he said that it was enough and will sue floyd and GBP for trying to malign his name in the press? imo, it is too much for pac's reputation and stature to be blamed a "drug cheat" just to sell this fight. i think pac ws really pissed off and if this was just scripted, i'm a sucker for drama.

but yeah, i hope it would still happen.

 

I don't think it'll be July. July and August haven't been the months for big PPV fights, and you can hardly get bigger than this fight.

If it gets delayed, it'll be til May or June. And if Pacquiao's political plans screw that up, then maybe September.

 

I actually think Pacquiao is not ****ing around....there is a new report out from yahoo sports....saying even arum when he hung up the phone with pacquiao, said "what the hell was that about"....after manny told him he was going to file a suit....

 

there was even some buzz here that pac's endorsement contracts from top companies would be cancelled just because of the malicious accusations presented by GBP and floyd's camp in the medias. pac was really pissed. i repeat, if these are all scripted in order to sell a fight, i'm a sucker for it. but this time floyd and GBP had crossed the line.
