In this same yahoo report, it said a reporter from manilla said he met with richard schafer back in spetember to talk about the mayweather-marquez fight, and that the reporter claims that schafer accused pacquiao of being a PED user.....this reporter also works for the scene of boxing.....it adds more fuel to the fire.....

Arum said he is going to open up arbitration against golden boy, because golden boy still recieves a cut of all pacquiao fights....based on a court ruling back in '06.....Arum says with this new light....he wants arbitration re-opened and for pacquiao to cut all ties with golden boy...Not good since, mayweather is being promoted by GBP

i'm kind of skeptical about the whole back and forth going on between both camps as well, I mean what better way to hype a fight of this magnitude in such a short amount of time.

on a side note if it is just hype whatever marketing person or team thought of this should get 50mil along w/ pac and floyd.

Pac is a different breed. He is totally unpredictable and normal rules and conventions do not apply to him.

I'm telling you, he is royally pissed. What he said was extremely uncharacteristic, and that's a huge understatement. Pac will go on with the lawsuit. Especially if his wife wants it.

i agree with this thread, i mean think about it conflict is really entertaining. how many times have you seen this fight mentioned on sports center(if this steroid thing never came up that number would be much smaller)?
my guess is that they will continue this bickering for another 2 weeks, they will eventually compomise on some sort of drug test, manny will pass and this fight will make a killing.

i don't think manny will allow his name to be maligned this way just so HBO, GBP and arum can sell the fight!

no effing way especially as he is running for public office as well

i'd say SUE the crackheads for multimillion dollars worth of damages. manny can make money without having to fight floyd!

Fact of the matter is that if Manny walks away from this fight it will be a stain on his career, just like it will be a stain on Floyd's career. No one will remember whose fault it was that the biggest fight of the last 25 years didn't happen, they will just remember that a bunch of idiots couldn't do the most logical possible thing, and that is make the most lucrative fight in history.

15 years later, no one remembers who was at fault for the 1994 baseball strike, they just remember how the entire sport shot itself in the foot. This will be the same here.

Manny's reputation and career will never be the same if he doesn't tell his promoter and people around him to MAKE THE FIGHT HAPPEN. Same with Floyd. Everybody involved in this fight will effectively be shooting themselves in the foot if they fail to get this thing signed. Boxing will lose a ton of fans and even more respect in the rest of the sports world.

this fight will never happen.....because as i've always believe....floyd dont want to fight anybody who might actually beat him....he's just bitching around.......just hope he's greedy enough to accept a 40M payout and just quit bitching.....

    Agree.

I think they all are doing all this hullaballoo to make even more interest.

Can't blame em, though. Why not create a bunch of false nonsense, as long as it'll make you even more money.

    Go, PAC!

They did beat Oklahoma and a very solid ranked team in Utah. Their 2 losses are florida state ( which is **** this year ) and TCU ( undefeated and no. 5 on the BCS POLL ), so I wouldn't call them **** if I were you.

    Just sayin
