Trying to squeeze down into the lowest weight division they can so they can come in 10-15 lbs. heavier than their opponents, but I can think of a few guys who fight not only at their weigh-in weight but not much under their walk-around weight:

    1.Mayweather
    2.Paquiao
    3.Rigondeaux

And these are three of the best fighters in the world, and at least two of them will be in the hall of fame.

A couple of others who don't seem to cut a ridiculous amount of weight:

    1. GGG
    2. Froch
    3. DeGale
    4. Matthysse

If all of these top guys are doing it, how long until others stop cutting to the bone?

Matthyse has packed on in the neighborhood of 20 pounds overnight for fights.

It's quite amazing that manny and floyd beat guys outweighing them by so much. I know it's not the same as going up like Duran continued to but it's impressive and needs reminding more often. People want Mayweather to fight somebody who comes in at what potentially almost 30 pounds heavier just to see him get challenged now... it's crazy.

One big difference between May/Pac and Duran is,that Duran liked to eat and allowed himself to balloon.

Duran moved up because he couldn't make weight anymore.May/Pac bulked up and went after money.

    Nothing new.

Thurman, Alexander, Khan, Maidana, Porter, Bradley, Brook@ 147 - fight night 157-160. So a 13-14 pound gain.

Same goes for the guys at 140...maybe a touch lighter normally see 10-12 pounds.

Rios & Broner used to go up 16-18 pounds whilst at 135.

Garcia shouldn't be holding any belts at 140 for the past year. When was the last time he made weight? now fighting at 147. Will come in atleast 156 on fight night no doubt.

Across the board I'd say it's typically 8-14 pounds.

Floyd doesn't reveal his fightnight weight so who's he supposed to be challenged by that is 30lbs heavier.

At the 30 day weighin I saw during one of his recent episodes he was 159.

If I had to guess, my guess would be vs larger guys like Maidana, he weighed bout 157/158.

If he were to meet GGG @154 my guess would be Floyd 155/156 & GGG 167/168

Pac should have never moved above 140.
That's why Floyd is undefeated and he is not.

PBF wasn't 159 on his 30 day weigh in. What are you talking about? He was 151. He was never 159 during any camp and probably has never weighed that much in his life.

Most guys drain themselves it's what the sport has become and I hate it. Bring back same day weigh ins.

Nicholas Walters does it on a massive scale. Dude's WW competing in Super feather. Most people who overachieve in a certain weight class more often than than at least partly owe it to massive draining i.e. Chavez Jr, Broner, Garcia. I don't think Carl Froch belongs in SMW either. Dude is 6'1'' with a non-slim built. He could easily make LHW.
