I voted GSP by decision. I think Anderson could only beat him by KO...but that's it. I don't think he'd be able to submit or totally dominate gsp for 5 rounds...Anderson never fought a guy of GSP's caliber... But the same , can't be said for GSP. (Penn is better rounded than Anderson). Then again that's just my opinion.

And let's not forget that GSP was koed by Serra...In other words...**** happens. and a guy like Silva has what it takes to also ko a guy like gsp...Still , i'd personally go for GSP.

Ok we could quibble bout a few pounds here and there, but the point there is giving that much weight and reach to Anderson is no easy task
For the record Im undecided either way on how the fight could go. Their strengths and weakness' match up so well, but the size differences I mentioned could be crucial and no doubt an advantage to Anderson

Silva will be defenseless against getting taken down. If GSP keeps him there, it could be Sonnen/ Silva all over again minus the last minute submission. So, I'm picking George.
But of course no one is dumb enough to think a spectacular Silva KO isn't a real possibility. Which is exactly why this fight should happen. It's extremely intriguing.

What's you guys opinion on which guy has the most too lose legacy wise. If GSP loses then people will say either Anderson was to big for him and he gets kudos for challenging him or on the other hand they'll say that he didnt move up a division with success like Anderson did at 205
If GSP wins then they'll he'll get immense credit for beating the GOAT at MW or people will say Silva was fighting bums and was overrated anyway...

When you move up in weight and challenge an ATG, you won't be judged as harshly if you lose. Keep in mind that Silva's victories at 205 haven't been against great opposition (yes, Forrest is a good fighter and ex-champ, but had a perfect style for Silva to exploit).
So, if GSP's first fight at middle is Silva and he loses, how can you really criticize him that much.
Look at BJ Penn. When his final status as an ATG is judged, I don't think his 2nd loss to GSP is going to play much of a factor in his ranking.

Damn straight. And with his footwork I can see him frustrating Anderson with his seemless stike to takedown game aswell. Hope this fight happens

First right off the bat you have your opening sentence the wrong way around for the point you are trying to make.

Secondly Jake was weight drained badly against Kampmann. He lost 15lbs in the 24 hours before the weigh in. Stevie Wonder could see that! Please don't use that fight as a bar to judge Shields on.

At WW i think GSP can beat Shields but at MW no chance!

As for Shields being the worst stand up fighter apart from Aoki... have you not watched a Lesnar fight?

I whole heartidly dont see how Silva negates St Pierre's wrestling ability , if St Pierre wants to charge out to the center of the cage and get hold of Silva at the beginning of every round whats gonna stop him ???

Silva looks to me like he cant pull the trigger anymore , no shows against Cote , Maia and Sonnen is not the Silva that blitzed , Leben , Franklin twice , Henderson and Griffin , he is not the same fighter that is abundantly clear he just isnt , St Pierre now has a blue print of how to beat Silva from Sonnen , and for me St Pierre is an all round better fighter than Sonnen , maybe that will be to his downfall who knows

But for me if St Pierre goes into this fight with one mind set , take down , take down , take down its a shut out , St Pierre UD :deal

If Shields beats GSP at any damn weightclass Id consider it the biggest upset in the history of MMA. Actually in the history of sports.

If Shields wins a round against GSP in any weight class, it would be a monumental achievement and enough to be the highlight of Jakes career.

If Shields even makes eye contact with GSP, he should gouge out his eyes and make a trophy out of them because it would be the greatest accomplishment of his entire mere mortal existence.

I wouldnt go that far. Hes earned the right to make eye contact. It would be an accomplishment though but I wouldnt say its his highest. Id still rate the Hendo win higher.
